Guys, I hate to admit it, but I think my reign of kicking rear on multiplayer is over. I no longer have my college halo gaming skills. I started some multiplayer last night and I had a string of one great game and 3 terrible ones. It could have something to do with getting used to the radar (didn’t realize I used it so much in other games) and the new controls. Does anyone else feel my pain?
Yeah, if you don’t play Halo for a while, you’ll be garbage for a bit once you hop back in. I remember I used to be a beast in Halo 3 but when I hopped into MCC, I constantly got by butt handed to me lol. I’m sure you’ll get used to it again, though.
halo 5 is a different beast too. You have to give it some time and figure out the balance and aiming. I had the same issue the first few matches. Im going slowly going more positive and if im playing with friends on a team, we usually win!
also, thank you for the misleading title, but fun post haha.
I feel you. I was very good during my HS days of Halo 2. Then I joined the Army and my skills went form super competitive to super causal. I’m trying in Arena, do okay. But I’m not staying 10+ in kills over everyone like I used to.
Looks like a lot of warzone for me

I figured it would make people think I was about to bash the game…blah blah nostalgia (everyone’s entitled to their own opinion lol).

I think I’m going to have to follow a similar journey cuz it seems there are a lot more casuals on that playlist. I also have to get used to not aiming for the head for every shot. I was so good in my H3 and Reach days that I could hit all my shots in the head for a perfect kill. It seems like with there being less aiming assist/magnetism or whatever its better to body shoot and swipe up for the head on the last one.

Do you find the arena maps extremely open? I don’t know what map I played on a bunch (rig maybe?) but when I’d boost around a corner to sit and recharge my shields another player would pick me off from the backside at a distance. It seems like even when you’re in a corridor type spot there’s multiple open spots that go to the “open space” of the map. Maybe it’s just my learning curve of the maps, but they feel different somehow and I can’t quite put my finger on it.
