The Ghost....

…is the ultimate show of having no skill in this game. And I love the fact there’s no immediate counter to it. Get your boots on the ground and use your guns.

Thats a very vague statement. Care to elaborate? Every map has multiple counters for ghosts. I have seen people that are ghost gods and some that have no idea what they are doing, it is quickly evident.

Vehicle play is a part of Halo and just adds to the fun. You make it sound like it’s cheating. Ghosts aren’t invincible and it being a ground vehicle one of the easier ones to hijack.

I would say not being able to counter them is the no skill part when there is always a way or two to counter them.

Plasma pistols, thrusters, hijacking, other vehicles, railguns, plasma casters, rockets, and snipers have all been removed from the game?

Also why is it that everything takes ‘no skill’ it killed me; it takes ‘no skill’ I just don’t get that. The terms seems meaningless and always has to me. There isn’t anything in Halo that some people can’t use better than others, therefore everything requires some degree of skill.

Take pot shots at it and when it turns to face you. get in cover and wait for your teammates do the same. When it turns to them pop your head out and continue firing.

“No immediate counter.” Should we all be spawning with rockets or something? Every map with a Ghost on it has a plasma pistol among other things in the map so there are counters for it. Shooting it with your gun is also a counter, albeit a very slow one depending on what you’re using, but it is a counter. If you can, try to shoot it’s fuel cell on the side of it which is a weak spot.

I love using the ghost. Fun and easy to get kills

In BTB counters include… Plasma pistol, plasma grenades, use the active camo and cover to jack it, warthogs, Hydra launchers, lasers, rocket launcher, and tanks… In warzone the ghost is a level three req if i remember right… level three reqs include the plasma pistol (you can get them even earlier off dead grunts), call in your own ghost or warthog. Use a random vehicle/weapon card as sometimes you can get higher level stuff like a wraith or rail gun granted that is rare and a gamble. I can’t quite remember what all is available at level 3 but there are sure to be a couple more.

As many have stated, there are a lot of counters to the ghost, not to mention the lack of protection the driver has. Just don’t try to take it head on if you are on foot with nothing but a BR and you should be fine

The ghost has alot of counters and there is actually skill to using it.
I won’t use it in btb, but it’s a great vehicle for boss kills in warzone and also for disrupting the enemies movement.

Also, if they’re trying to splatter you front on, junp and thruster backwards. You’ll be able to hijack them.

Plenty of ways to stop the ghost in my opinion, maybe just ran into some bad luck dealing with them?

This post is laughable, I’m sorry OP but come on. The vehicles in Halo 5 are easy to take down. The easiest in any Halo I’ll argue Even. Even your basic weapons like the AR, BR, Pistol etc. can do it, especially on a ghost, but like Comedic Hermit and others have put, there are a ton of weapons a Spartan can use to take out a ghost.

I’m going to assume you had a couple matches where you got killed a lot by a ghost or something and just got frustrated and put this post up.

The ghost is actually multifunctional and can be used very strategically if in the hands of the right individual/Spartan. It can be used for more than just splattering as most people use it for. I find it to be a great scouting vehicle due to it’s speed as I fly around a base to get in an evaluation of a situation for my team and provide information back to them. Much better than making yourself an open and priority target for the enemy team if you were to do this in a Wasp, Banshee, or Phaeton.

Additionally, you can strategically use it to lure an enemy player or team into a trap. Lure/Jeer them into following you back into an area where you know your teammate has a hidden heavy vehicle like a Scorpion, Wraith, or Mantis (Preferably ONI or Hannibal variant), floor it by your heavily armed teammate, and let them do the rest  . Edit: Additionally, if you see an opponent pop out with a Sniper Rifle Based weapon when trying to do this, fly around a corner, instead of thrusting it on a straightaway to increase your odds of surviving and luring them still.

You can also with the Ghost distract your opponents into wasting power weapon ammo or long enough for your teammates to take them out.

All sorts of fun ‘ghostnanigans’ you can pull off with this vehicle and in order to do some of the things I mentioned if you are skilled with the vehicle, and in some cases having a good team/friends as well.

I guess my only complaint with the Ghost is that you can’t jump over it to avoid a splatter. Other than that, the Ghost is perfectly fine. Usually, if somebody is getting annoying with a Ghost, I pull out a Ghost Ultra. It works like a charm, because usually his Ghost has already been damaged, I get the first few shots in, and the Ultra is more powerful than any other variant.

I looked through your game history to see if you had matched against any of the top btb teams. Unfortunately if you don’t complete enough games to find a good way to kill the ghost. How are you not banned for weeks at a time?

You can jump over it. You might be mistiming your jump or doing it at a bad angle where the Ghost has more vertical height. Try crouch jumping if you need some extra height over the Ghost.

I think the Covenant Motorcycle, excuse me the Ghost, is pretty balanced. Considering everything under the sun can destroy it or its driver. While in BTB you won’t, and shouldn’t expect to, spawn with power weapons, you have the most important immediate counter at all times… Teamwork. Also chances are you probably don’t spawn/re-spawn too far away from an ample power weapon or vehicle that you can use to show that pesky Ghost who’s boss!!

For Warzone, this isn’t even a discussion, since you can spawn/re-spawn with essentially any weapon you want. Once you hit a good REQ level where you have access to the more powerful power weapons, the Ghosts will tremble before you. Even before then, you have the assets to make it work. Not to mention there are a ton of other vehicles in Halo’s sandbox that can be used to effectively challenge and defeat a Ghost.

Ghost driving does require skill, just as much as what’s required to avoid/defeat a Ghost. I’ve seen people get decimated in Ghosts just as often as I’ve seen people decimate others with them. Every item in Halo has a certain degree of skill required to use it effectively, so I don’t think the “no-skill” argument is quite valid in any context presented in this scenario. Don’t fret, just keep playing and you’ll learn how to deal with Ghosts and Ghost drivers of various skill levels, it takes time.

Okay, thanks. I’ll try that.
