The gernade ping yay or nay??

So if you guys have been fallowing my rants you will know that I am a big fan of the halo universe, & even though my grammer and punctuation isn’t all there my rants have been nothing but praises with a few mild critics…
with that said I have a bit of a complaint on what 343 is doing with the ping noise in halo. I got one don’t like it. It takes away from the strategy of stealthiness and really is just their for your opponent to finish you just when you shields are about regenerate… I think it’s a cheap way to give away your position and allowing you to be picked off when you need your stealth at most now I am a huge fan of the franchise and love what they did with the maps on btb and just want the right balance I just feel like the bing is but something for the noobs and is not necessary and hope it doesn’t make a return
I would love to hear what you guys think

You mean the alert to indicate your position? I’m pretty sure it only shows up for your teammates, not your enemies.

Nope the one when you hit an oponent with a gernade

So, hit markers, then.

Yep

I’ve never had an issue with Hit Markers. Now when I lob grenades over the map I know if I hit something!

Hit markers wouldn’t be that big of an issue for me if the blast radius for grenades wasn’t so huge.

It would be fine if the hit markers were disabled on grenades, we have never needed them to give away an enemy’s position anyway. It’s a cheap method of gaining information on where your opponent is hiding.

I feel hit markers fit perfectly with halo 5’s movement and speed. I really like the addition.

Same. I also like that they aren’t just generic hit markers. Instead of just popping on the screen, they bloom from the reticle, and the more damage dealt, the more the hit markers bloom.

OP, you can call the grenade hit markers nooby, but they are also a very effective strategy. I like them.

I couldn’t agree more friend

I kinda like it say your going to the enimnes base and you don’t know if there’s a guy around the next corner so you chuck a nade in and you get the hit sound that tells you that there is a guy in there

i find the sound to be a helping hand in cases like that

I don’t see much strategy more like chase a guy when hurt if anything it just ruins killstreajs can’t tell you how many times I was picked off just because I was just trying to heal my shields

You have the option to possibly know the whereabouts of the enemy’s position, but you also have the possibility to waste a grenade. It decreases the randomness, and I know for a fact a ton of classic fans hate randomness.

Doesn’t sound like a generic strategy lol

Not much of a strategy for me more like toss and hope I’m lucky lol

A strategy that really has no reason to be in the game when you can use your lines of sight or proper communication/prediction to locate enemies. Giving grenades the additional role of mini radars was never necessary or skillful to execute.

Yes

So basically exactly what he’s saying. Throw a grenade, if someone’s in there, you get a hit. If not, you lost a grenade.
