The Gauss Hog...

Yes it’s another hate thread but honestly the Gauss needs to be nerfed or just removed all together from Exile. I have also come to the consensus that people only vote that mediocre game for the fact that the Gauss is on it in the first place.

Reasons for nerf or removed:

  1. Auto aim/ shell magnetism too high
  2. When emp’d, the turret it is able to still rotate and fire
  3. Rate of fire is too high
  4. Most important The cover the actual turret provides for the gunner, as in
    not able to head shot the gunner easily when he is staring at you

I’ve been a long time halo fan (CE) and just want the game to be better than it already is in more ways than one and all I want in this case is the Rocket hog to replace Gauss hog. Yes you can say that there are lasers and other various weapons but in game situations arise that can be completely random and not foreseeable in any way. Also those weapons are not always available when you have zero map presence. Thanks 343i.

The Hog is fun as -Yoink- and should stay the way he is (my opinion).

Yes let’s nerf one of the only useful vehicles in BTB.

Everything else is just too slow or weak!

Next people will want the Scorpion removed from Exile too… It Gauss hog is powerful but not unbeatable. I think it’s awesome that it’s actually in matchmaking and I hope they keep it around without nerfing it because that just spoils the game experience. Get to the tank and you can take it out right away :slight_smile:

I do not doubt it’s fun when your in it, because it is, but it provides a lot of imbalances since only one side/ team gets it on the start. It’s not fun particularly fun to be on the receiving end of many multi-kills and sprees which makes quitting to some a viable option and join in progress a joyous occasion.

  1. its actually got less “auto aim” then reaches or halo 3’s gauss hog.

  2. yes so does the other worthog.

  3. halo 4’s ROF on the gauss is much lower then the past halo games. The time it takes to fire one shot and be ready for the next one reaches and 3’s hog couldve fired off 2 more.

  4. this has been in since the gauss hog was ever featured in halo.

TLDR your mad because you died. This is the hardest gauss hog to use out of all the games its been featured in. The splash radius even got lowered. Not to mention you can spawn with a PP and 2 stickies that kill most vehicles. and you have personnel ORD that hands you vehicle destroying weapons.

If someone can actually go on a spree with it chances are the driver/gunner are very skilled. Instead of crying for a nerf why don’t you get better or atleast stop getting upset and asking for something to be nerfed that doesn’t need it at all.

Gauss has always been OP.

It’s there to promote teamwork in order to take it down.

Plasma Nades, The Covie answer to those Pesky Warthogs. Just apply 2 directly to the hog, Preferably on the wheels or Drivers face. and There you go, One slagged warthog.

I like Exile quite a bit actually. I think its pretty darn balanced when people do not spam the DMR. (Which is not often, I know)

There is a reason why the Scorpion starts on one side and the Gauss on the other.

The Scorpion can one shot the Gauss Warty.

The Gauss CANNOT one shot the Scorpion, but this is offset by having a full complement of 3 in a Gauss Warty rush the tank at the beginning of the battle and possibly take it or destroy it quickly.

The gauss hog itself is fine. The imbalance is in that there is only one on Exile, combined with the fact the Scorpion sucks on this map and is badly placed making it an easy target. It sucks on Exile because there is no real room to manouver a tank on the map. Its one tiny race track style strip you have to stick to or else get stuck.

I agree with from points at the start but that doesn’t mean its still not imbalanced. Your point at the end is exactly the problem, recently drivers have got better and the gunners as well. I hardly doubt a player going 47-0 in the thing is scared if being killed anytime soon (Don’t belief me go to my mosy recent Exile game). No matter how hard I tried I could never close the gap between me and hog to destroy it. It also seems to prove my theory, in these recent posts, that people tend to vote Exile overwhelmingly to use it or at least try to I guess. I will have to agree to disagree.

Step 1:Equip a plasma pistol and plasma nades
Step 2:Hide around a corner, don’t move so they don’t see you on the radar
Step 3:Plasma pistol it then stick it

It takes like 2 seconds+ in between shots.

So your problem is that if a good player gets in they are hard to kill? Thats a GOOD thing. Good players shouldn’t get punished because bad players can’t keep up. And as ive said there are plenty of ways to deal with vehicles. Vehicle combat in this game is hard enough with the load out system and personnel drops. None of the vehicles need to be nerfed. That would only hurt vehicle play even more.
