The idea of this thread is that seemingly now we have very little in the way of vehicles. Well, why not make up new ones!
When making your own vehicle, use this format. (No I won’t be drawing your contraptions. Heavens that be dreadful!)
Example:
Name:
Warthog
Faction:
UNSC
Description (Canonical/Gameplay):
A vehicle employed in human military service for (x) amount of years that continues to this day to serve as a scout and fast assault vehicle.
I’m going to post one of my vehicles from that thread here…
> F-17 MOSQUITO
>
> CLASSIFICATION:
>
> UNSC Air
>
> CAPACITY:
>
> 1 Pilot, 3 Passengers
>
> ARMAMENT:
>
> Light Mounted Machine Gun controlled by Pilot. One Micro-Missile Pod controlled by third passenger. First and Second Passenger are armed with their current weapons.
>
> FUNCTION:
>
> VTOL functionality, the pilot must manually maintain their altitude.
>
> LETHALITY:
>
> The Mosquito’s primary chaingun is slightly weaker than the Warthogs, it will overheat after 7 seconds. The Missile Pod has a low ROF but the projectiles are as lethal as the Sticky Detonator.
>
> DAMAGE RESISTANCE:
>
> The Mosquito has a damage resistance equivalent to the unshielded Mantis, but extra damage will be inflicted when it’s engines are shot.
>
> DESCRIPTION:
>
> The F-17 Mosquito was developed in 2554 by Mishriah Armories, it has seen extensive service by UNSC Marine Corps. The Vehicle has been recently optimized for use in Spartan IV deployments.
Description:
Covenant attempt at taking needle technology and applying it’s properites to light ground vehicles during the year of 2558. The Poltergeist is a light assault vehicle similar to the warthog using the base of a spectre but ditching the two side seats for mounted turrets operable by the driver and using a needle-turret on the rear end for anti-infantry/vehicle combat. However the unique feature this vehicle provides is it’s handrails on the sides. During objective matches players can hop aboard with only a flag or bomb.
Statistics: Speed: 350mph
Armaments: 1 Mounted Needle-Turret, 2 plasma cannons on the side operated by the driver.
Just going to repost some of my ideas from the old thread…
> F/A-39 Wasp
>
> CLASSIFICATION
> UNSC Close Air-Support Fighter
>
> CAPACITY
> -Pilot
> -Co-Pilot/Gunner
>
> ARMANENT
> -Twin 12.7mm rotary chainguns [PILOT]
> -TV-Guided rocket pods [Gunner]
>
> LETHALITY
> -The Wasps chainguns do slightly less damage than the Warthogs gun
> -The rocket pods (which have to be manually aimed - keep the reticule on target to hit) are individually as powerful as the rocket pod (infantry) from Halo 3
>
> FUNCTION
> The Wasp is a fast ground attack aircraft that relies primarily on its manoeuvrability for survival. It is capable of dishing out heavy damage but is vulnerable to small arms fire
>
> ARMOUR/SHIELDING
> The Wasp has about as much armour as the Hornet. Its shielding primarily covers the cockpit, to protect the pilots from snipers. Its engines are its primary vulnerable points, and a enough damage to these areas can destablise it and cause it to explode or crash.
>
> GAMEPLAY
> The Wasp would normally fly as fast as the Banshee (when its boosting), but would handle similarly to the Falcon (LT for engines, left stick for direction/pitch and right for yaw). It would also be able to use its reaction jets to roll, similar to the Banshee (LB). RT would fire the Chainguns [Pilot] or fire the missiles [co-pilot]. It the pilot is killed but the copilot isnt (eg, by a sniper), the Wasp drops out of the air for a split second, then control switches to the copilot, who essentially gains control over the pilots station, but loses missile control. The Pilots are also able to eject at any time, by holding the exit button when the Wasp is over 5 metres above the ground
Secondary Fire Mode: Light Fuel Rod Mortal LETHALITY:
Twin Needle Cannons: The Wight’s twin-mounted Needle Cannons have a ROF of 180 rpm and a kill-time of 12 rounds + Supercombine. The needles will travel quickly, but their target tracking is limited and easy to evade.
Rear-Mounted Fuel Rod Mortar: The Wight’s Fuel Rod mortal serves an anti-vehicle role in combat. With a slow ROF of 60 rpm, a kill-time of 2 direct hits, and a slower moving projectile, it’s not the best anti-infantry weapon. However, the Fuel Rod Mortal excels in knocking almost any ground based vehicle off the wheels and can destroy a fully armored Scorpion tank in two direct hits. FUNCTION:
The Wight has a slower base movement speed than the Ghost, but that is made up for it’s ability to maintain full maneuverability whilst boosting (which doubles its speed).
Switching between the needle cannons and the fuel rod mortar on the Wight is done by pressing the Y button. Similar to how the Banshee’s firemodes are switched. DAMAGE RESISTANCE:
The Wight, as common in most light vehicles, is not the most “protective” form of transportation. It will withstand now more than two directs hits from a Sniper.
Similar to the Ghost and the Chopper, the sides of the Wight are unarmored, making the driver exposed on those angles.
A well placed shot to the Wight’s rear thrusters will triple the damage brought to it; it is advised for drivers to always to stay facing your target. DESCRIPTION:
Shaped similar to a mix between the hook-like bow of a CAS-Class Assault Carrier and the cabin of the Halo 3-Era Shade Turret , the Type-96 Rapid Attack Vehicle (Wight) is a hybrid between the Type-32 RAV (Ghost) and the Type-48 LAGC (Revenant) in both function and use.
Developed by the Merchants of Qikost in late 2532, the Wight saw most of its use in engagements between Heretic Forces rather than in assaults on Human Colonies. However, with several splinter factions rising in prominence after the end of the Human-Covenant war, the Wight has gained more and use prominence as well. GAMEPLAY:
During multiplayer matches, the Wight is best used for cleaning up lone stragglers and effectively eliminating other vehicles such as tanks or Warthogs. Due to the fact that the Wight is extremely vulnerable from the sides and the back, and that it turns and moves slowly without boosting - facing groups of enemies with it is never a good idea.
Name:Butcher Tank
Faction:Brutes
Description (Canonical/Gameplay):
A vehicle deployed by the Brutes post-2553. The Butcher is the Brute’s Main Battle Tank, but has only seen inter-tribal warfare on Dosiac. Humans have yet to encounter this horror.
It has 4 Chopper-style wheels (two in front and two in back) and anti-gravity boosters set between wheel sets. It moves like a slow less-maneuverable Chopper. Unlike the Scorpion and Wraith, the Butcher can change direction quickly, thanks to its anti-gravity boosters. Reversing with boosters engaged swivels the turret around instantly.
Statistics:
Speed: 40 Km/hour. 100Km/hour when boost engaged.
Armaments: pilot operated Incendiary cannon (medium range Flame thrower)
Passengers use Spiker cannons.
Armor: medium. Week spots are the boosters.
Passenger Count: 3 (1 pilot 2 passengers)
Here’s another one of mine from the original thread.
> RAV-ANACONDA
>
>
> CLASSIFICATION:
>
> UNSC Motorbike/primary light assault
>
> ARMAMENT:
>
> The RAV-Anaconda is equipped with dual Driver-controlled LMG’s that have the combined power of the SAW.
>
> FUNCTION:
>
> The RAV-Anaconda supports one driver and can reach speeds up to 120 kph in short periods of time. Since the Anaconda is a motorbike, any time the Vehicle flips will result in extra damage to the driver.
>
> (It is possible to do wheelies with the Anaconda)
>
> LETHALITY:
>
> The RAV-Anaconda’s mounted LMGs will individually inflict half of the damage of the SAW, but together they will shred through both hard and soft targets with ease. Due to the Vehicle’s small size, it is very difficult to get Splatters.
>
> DAMAGE RESISTANCE:
>
> The RAV-Anaconda offers little protection on it’s operator, who must rely on it’s speed and weaponry to effectively engage opponents. Since the Anaconda offers a similar role to gameplay as the Ghost, it will suffer the same amount of damage before destruction.
>
> (NOTE: Flipping the RAV-Anaconda will result in extra damage to it’s user.)
>
> DESCRIPTION:
>
> Developed in early 2535 by AMG Transport Dynamics, the RAV-Anaconda (Rapid Assault Vehicle) saw exensive use during engagements in the Battle of Jericho VII later that year.
>
> The Anaconda has a sleek profile with angular armor plating guarding it’s wheels. Two LMGs are mounted on the Anaconda’s front fork.
Name: Griffon
Faction: UNSC
Description (Canonical/Gameplay): Originally designed by Insurrectionist engineers, as a counter to the Mantis, plans for the vehicle were stolen by ONI during a raid on an Innie base. ONI later improved on the design, and the Griffon was put into production in 2555. (Though this date is disputed as it is believed that the Insurrectionists had several working prototypes, as early as 2553.)
This vehicle can fly with twin VTOL engines, or slowly walk on 4 short mechanical legs. Transition time is 5 seconds. The Griffon’s weakness is its slow turning speed. This balances out the stationary forward facing GAUS cannon. The roof mounted LAAG turret has full 360 degree coverage, but the gunner’s upper torso is exposed. Also, while flying, the GAUS cannon is near-useless unless a vehicle flies at the same altitude as the Griffon. When in air, the LAAG is it’s only weapon. (The roof of the vehicle and the LAAG turret are sloped down so the passenger can hit ground targets in flight.
Statistics:
Speed: 70KPH Air/50KPH ground
Armor: Heavy.
Armament: Driver controlled forward facing GAUS cannon. Passenger controlled LAAG turret.
Passenger Count: 2
