The game is in a bad state

Halo wars 2 is becoming a joke. With constant broken balance patches and terrible connections. Like with the two most recent patchs. First you made marines king and make banished weak teir 1 then with the next patch you make grunts king and make unsc weak teir 1. Also unsc has way better teir 2 and 3 units compared to banished apart from decimus but thats because of his passive powers and really its only banshess that can compete, and like come on you make elite rangers that cost more than snipers and is a teir 2 unit worst than snipers and you nerf locus even more like what? and still havent made mauraders viable ever, they are a terrible unit lol.

Also ive been dissconnected from games so much i cant see the point in playing anymore. Its ashame because halo wars 2 if you look past the connection issues and really questionable balance decisions its a really amazing game. But i feel after the next dlc, the game will only go down hill more with needing to balance 2 new leaders. And then slowly support for the game will die. Aparently halo wars 1 sold more copies which sucks. Anways this is just my quick thoughts on the game.

Nah, not going to lie that week with the disconnects made me as angry as Decimus when he loses a Blitz match. Unpopular Opinion I miss OP Yapyap, it felt so good having a top tier grunt anything in the Halo Universe.

6 months in and we still cant get a fix for the connection dude

I was thinking the same thing, but I do agree with the OP about UNSC having a much better late game, but as of now I think it’s one of the most balanced times yet, still a few things that could be changed, but nothing is gamebreaking right now.

Can you guys explain how banished dominating early game and grunts being king while unsc struggles badly early game but has a way better mid and late game balance? I thought balance is banished and unsc both have good early mid and late game. Also the only banished leader you can use is decimus lol how is that balance?

Decimus is hardly the only viable leader. And Grunts aren’t gods right now, Snipers and Hellbringers are still very effective at killing them.

Grunts beat marines and all scout vehicles. Yes obvs flamers and sniper win but banshied just have to build sucide grunts and unsc cant do anything about that. And decimus is the only viable banished leader.

I have also done tests btw 10 grunts vs 4 chopper both cost 1000 all together grunts won with 8 left over. 4 marines vs 6 grunts cost 600 all together grunts won with 4 left over. They are gods. Both test had first upgrades for all units.

I find Grunts beating Marines hard to believe. I’ll need to do some testing. Is this equal pop? Or do the Grunts outnumber the Marines?

I’d need to ask higher level players, but I still don’t believe Decimus is the only viable Banished leader. After looking at the leaderboards it is weighing heavily to the UNSC side, with more Yapyap’s than Decimus.

Yap yap is good early game but mid and late with unsc having better teir 2 and 3 he struggles. Also im talking decimus is the only viable banished vs unsc btw. In banished mirror im not sure.

I don’t get it.

But don’t take that too seriously, I’m not too sure.

Atriox is supe viable as well as Ship, pretty much every Banished is quite alright with Colony and Arbiter being at the bottom but not on a bad state.

I thought ppl would be putting Arby higher on their lists because of the enforcer buff, and early teleport.
Why do you consider him low tier? Is it just the leader?

Yeah I’m quite confused at that too, he’s actually really quite good if you do the enforcer rush. Also with the mention of Colony, he’s probably been my best Banished so far this patch just simply because he probably is the best hero unit right now. Massive HP pool, good DPS with Skitterers and not extremely expensive like other leaders can be. A few grunts engis and him out I’ve found to be a really good opener as long as they don’t go all Marine/Flamer rush.

Sounds like you haven’t come up against an army of enforcers at 3:30 yet :tired_face:

You should try playing some long games. Our -Yoink- sounds cool but that’s just in theory.

I think countermeasures brutes are better than enforcers, stun > stasis. It’s not that enforcers are bad, of course not they also have utility, but I’d rather have an unit that can stun or jump. I don’t think the hero is bad but certainly being melee puts him at a disadvantage.

I just want to say that Mauraders are not terrible units, I clean shop with them so idk what you’re talking about. With the current meta everyone goes infantry ball and they get completely melted by my 5 Mauraders. Not only that the enemy will air to counter them, but I can just incorporate Reavers since I already have a foundry up and also mauraders compete surprisingly well against air. If they go anti-infantry I still melt their armies most often than not. Finally these vehicles absolutely deny any hero play.
