It says in these two articles that the game has unlimited sprinting. I don’t want to hate on anything. I personally like the new changes we are getting. But I feel that unlimited sprint might create balancing problems. I hope they do something about it after the beta. Again, I might be wrong. I haven’t played the game personally so I can’t say anything.
It’s been said that your shields won’t regenerate when using Sprint, but that doesn’t solve the problem of Sprint allowing you to boost out of poor positioning and well-placed grenades. A better change (besides removing Sprint entirely lol) is to make it so that when you are shot while sprinting you get knocked out of it and cannot sprint again for a cooldown period of, say, 5 seconds.

Yeah, but your shield will not regenerate while sprinting. Hopefully for players who dont like sprint ( I like sprint. actually) there will be playlist that will fit the old-school players.
It’s better than limited sprint I guess. Running 12 steps at a time and then recovering is one of the worst gameplay mechanics ever.

How is it unbalanced when everyone has it. They are trying to please the entire community and so they added sprint as an ability for everyone and your shield doesn’t regenerate. This community gets ridiculous sometimes (not saying you are I’m just seeing all these rants) we should all wait for the beta to help 343 twweek the game. That’s what a beta is for. I’m seeing posts saying halo is dead because of SAs when the game so far is just halo 2 with the new abilities added in for a bit of a refres . Halo can’t stay the exact same forever but 443 brought back the arena style fast paced halo I think we will all love but with some new elements. I hope it will be good.

It may be balanced but is it a good idea?
If you gave everyone on spawn a rocket launcher, it may be balanced as everyone has it, but does that do for good gameplay?
Sprint is meant for A to B fast transportation, but increases chances of escaping. Now they’ve nerfed sprint’s defensive capabilities so it’s mainly fast transportation. However seeing as maps have previously been upscaled to accommodate sprint’s faster speed, what use is sprint then? It’s existence get’s nullified by the actions done to accommodate it. Or are they going to down scale maps so that there will be action non-stop with no breathers?
IT HAS UNLIMITED SPRINT!!! Well, I guess it is alright, considering you don’t regenerate shields when you sprint.
I don’t think it will be that big of a deal.

Grenades will still cause massive damage over a wide area. You’ll just have to put a little more thought into using them now.

The idea that sprinting is nothing but a large scale transportation device (a la mongoose, UT hoverboard) is silly (though the hoverboard WAS just a glorified PC sprint button.) Its most immediate impact is on GAMEPLAY. Get into a fight and say you want to move between cover. There’s your boost. Now aim, now finely position yourself on cover. Now do anything that isn’t helped by a massive speed boost. Sprint allows you to have more control over how you move (by establishing separate modes that each have their applications to combat). Its the equivalent of Scoping applied to the left stick (only with the opposite effect). Loosing it would be a distinct loss for Halo. I just hope that with YET ONE MORE game people might finally start to see that.

That’s not even worth assuming if you don’t even know the radius on the grenades or the throwing ark and so on. I mean it’s clear it’ll have an effect but I think it’s safe to assume that they’ll find a balance.
I’m more worried about long range engagements to be honest. I was thrown off a bit but how few head shot strafe fights I saw that looked un interupted but something crazy.
Sniping could be pretty tough now too.

So let’s then skip the idea that sprint is used to traverse great distances faster, and instead look at simply going between covers.
The difference between covers in order to make it with sprint and not without and make it between them without sprint and stay alive is miniscule if we’re going to pretend your attacker is going to connect every shot with an enough fast to kill weapon.
Then there’s another aspect of going between covers, and that’s the risk involved in making it between them. That’s the risk and reward, with sprint over the same distance, the risk of traversing it is lower than with non-sprint, but the reward is the same. Compare it to traversing the same distance with default speed only, higher risk but the same reward. Then with default speed and engaging in combat for either suppressive fire or a kill and the risk and reward is the same if a kill isn’t achieved but you get behind cover. Either way, in moving between covers, sprint has the highest chance with lowest the risk of going between covers. That’s reducing the risk of failing at the push of a button. Is that something we wish to achieve?
Then for more control of how you move and comparing it to the scoping of weapons, it tangents what you’ve said earlier about precision movement. We’ve already gone over that.

Everyone have something don’t make it balanced. Overused but good example if everyone had armor lock it would not be balanced or fun
