The game feels abandoned

I just spent 10$ on the HCS pack. Pretty corny stuff in there. The skins just have HCS plastered on them. I thought I would unlock some of the existing cool Pistol skins. Whatever.

After that I just played like 10 games of Arena with all my new gear. NOBODY has a mic. Nobody feels like they are even trying. We have NAV points and voices calling out power weapons. Like 1 or 2 people go for them. I swear i think everybody who was a regular H1-H3 player has left Halo? I quit out of like 4 matches when we were getting stomped. I’m not staying in for that. It was over the courese of a lot of games, but i was surprised the game didn’t ban me. Not very strict. But my point is that Arena is supposed to be a competetive game. This feels like the most uncompetetive experience I’ve ever had in Halo and Bungie seemed unwilling to work with comp play much at all.

My experiences with this game have been pretty miserable for half my time spent playing it. Its like playing with bots or something.

So…you’re upset that 343 created an unengaging repetitive halo game that not many people like to play / contribute to socially the way they did in 1-3

yet you paid $10 for weapon skins

this is gaming in 2015 dog, better get used to it

arena does feel dead. I’m wondering how often I got the message that there aren’t enough players in this playlist.
Warzone is decent, yet

I don’t think you should quit out of games when you’re getting stomped unless you are one of the last two people left on your team (4v4), but I understand your frustration. You definitely should NOT have bought that REQ pack for $10, as, it’s exactly as you said.

They designed the game for “pros,” so I honestly can’t really fault the casual player who feels like they aren’t getting anywhere with the game.

I’ve yet to experience the issue where there aren’t enough people in the playlist, but that would really piss me off if that was the case not even 2 months after release.

The population for this game is dropping as the weeks pass by. What proof do I have? Well for starters look at how far its dropped as the most played on XB1. Second, this is where it really became apparent to me is in Arena matchmaking. I’m A Gold 2. I’m being matched with players and high as platinums and as low as new unranked players. And I’m talking in simple slayer 4 vs 4. Not BTB or Warzone. People seem to think the dropping population will not affect them but it already is.

Just throwing in my own personal experience, but I haven’t had any trouble finding matches or anything you mentioned. Some players are downright bad, this is true, but I don’t blame rhe game that people don’t get power weapons or contribute to objective gametypes.
I haven’t had to wait more than 60 seconds for a lobby to fill in any gametype, and didn’t even know there was a message about a gametype having too few players.

I’m always in a party. Even without friends in game. Randoms are loud and bad, and I’ve never had problems finding anyone in any playlist.

This.

I usually jump into an empty party. Otherwise it’s just someone talking to someone else in the room with their mike left on or kids crying/singing all the time. It’s not your first day on Xbox Live, is it?

It’s been that way since the beginning. But how simple would it be for them to put in the game how many people are online? Why would you cut something like that out after you had it in the last games? I like when new stuff is added but don’t take stuff away that was nice just for the heck of it.

That’s what I was thinking.
WTF, OP? Take a friggin’ stance.
Can you blame 343 and MS for thinking people actually like their game and continuing on this Halo-destroying-path when people like you are buying things for the game? Seriously, man.
Get some integrity. Show 343 you don’t like their game, and stop playing it for good.

The game is obviously non-competitive with all these stupid Spartan abilities that empower and entice people to lone wolf everything.
Traditional Halo, which involved actual team tactics, is gone, and as long as out-of-touch, in-over-their-heads 343 remains in charge, that won’t change.
Time to move on, OP…like all the veterans you pointed out.

When it comes to me, I’ve boycotted the game. I refuse to buy it.
H4 insulted me as a Halo MP fan, and MCC insulted me as a person (by selling me something that obviously didn’t work).
I will not support them until they can prove they made a proper and working Halo…and even that would be a pretty large forgiving.

They don’t have a place for casual players or new players to play so they play arena so yeah you may get matched with them. Unless you have a team you regularly play with the arena games are going to be very hit or miss. I only play FFA and BTB in arena. I don’t even bother with the 4v4 game types because of the mismatches and constant quitters.

Yep they so should have implemented into this game also a basic training gametype like they had in Halo 3. So that upto a certain stage you can play with people who are learning the game until the game decides you have peaked and locks you out of this playlist. It was a great way for new players to get used to a more competitive environment while learning the game until the game slowly pushed you out of this playlist letting you know now was the time to start playing with the big boys.

This. It’s not 343’s fault that players are bad.

I firmly believe that anyone who doesn’t use a mic in a team based game is a total jerk. I meet a lot of jerks.

Seriously, what is this? It’s like people put the mic in a different room and just broadcast what’s going on in their household. I never mic up either for the same reasons, plus I feel like talking to people and trying teamwork will frustrate me 10x more than I already am with the quitters and AFKs; Big Team and Team Arena are damn near unplayable. Team tactics are still there if you have a party, and even with one other person it’s pretty easy to dominate. I guess I could do my part to be more social when I find that one other guy that can shoot and is trying to do the objective, by sending an invite and partying up.

I never have problems finding matches. I always have my mic on and greet my team as the match is starting. I always give call outs (until I realize no one is listening or going to respond).

Sometimes you get picked up by people forming teams as you play. Play like you’re on a team, even when you don’t have one. Show people you’re worth having around.

If you want friends, be a friend.

As opposed to all the wonderful screaming 12 year olds / belligerent racists that do use mics?

OP the no mic issue has been a thing ever since xbox introduced party chat. Also in the rare the case that people do have their mic on all I hear is them blaring some crappy music, talking to other people in the room with them but not about the game, screaming children, barking dogs, and angry parents.

The mute system is broken for some players so they can’t mute individual players who are screaming into the mic. The only solution is to mute everyone or listen to people who are using their Kinect as it picks up their spouse arguing with them about what’s for dinner.

It appears that a lot of people choose to simply mute everyone.

“Left like 4 games”

I really don’t like you.
