The Future.

The Future of Halo Reaches most popular gametypes will be decided tomorrow. Will it be
Vanilla or TU?

Some Questions:

#1:Who do you want to win?

#2:Who do you think will win?

My answers:

#1: I want Vanilla

#2: I think Vanilla will win because i think ive seen more people vote
for it more, but my opinion here is inaccurate because i haven’t played halo
as much in the past two weeks.

So what do you think?

PS: No arguments pretty please with a cherry on top

I think it actually runs till Tuesday, but it may take a little time after that for an announcement.

Ive got answers =P

I would prefer to play the same game I have been playing for a year =/ (vanilla)

> #2:Who do you think will win?

My experience thus far has been far more vanilla winning then TU, so Im going to go with vanilla for the win.

> PS: No arguments pretty please with a cherry on top

Oh if that only worked =D LOL.

TU is the answer to all questions.

I hope Vanilla wins. Only because we still have all the default options we could explore to better balance out the game.

> TU is the answer to all questions.

This most likely coming from somebody who slaps off over 85%/Zero Bloom options because it means he doesn’t have to think his kills through as much.

Doesn’t matter to me - I only have a few thousand Credits left to hit Nova, and then I’m done with Halo. The Title Update is utter cancer for the casual idiots that couldn’t adapt to game innovation. But, for the record: Vanilla, just to annoy the TU trynuts.

Come on, be nice and reasonable. If you insult everyone for their preference (even if a lot of them are being unfair about it) then you come off as an idiot yourself and actually hurt this side of the discussion of TU balance.

I actually did want TU to win but then learned of the horrid health pack/melee glitch that TU has. TU is a lot of fun and i like alot but a glitch like that is unnacceptable. So until it is fixed I’m sticking to Vanila.

TU should of been tested a bit more and implemented into every playlist.

Vanilla-lovers should be happy to even be able to vote for vanilla.

I hope TU wins.

Its a close toss up because after they put TU as the first two its gotten picked every game ive played

I will never play Team Slayer while it is infested with AR/pistol starts, both are too random and if you obtain a power weapon (or even a DMR for that matter) it is very easy to lock down the map while the opposition are struggling to get access to more reliable weapons.

Sounds like someone never played Halo 2. You shouldn’t have to think a quick DMR kill through. Lol who does that? You just mad cause your bloom crutch and armor lock are gonna be history.

I’m pretty sure that bloom was more of a balancing tool as the DMR is far more accurate than the Battle Rifle(It can shoot all the way across the map with perfect accuracy.)

The Battle Rifle and DMR are completely different.

Secondly, bloom and armor lock are still in the game so those crutches are still there. I would say that using an overpowered weapon(the DMR) is a crutch also. Try killing somebody with the assault rifle while they have the DMR to see what I mean.

Why would you use an AR to being with?
The thing is useless.

TU should have become standard last year, anyway.

The sandbox was already unbalanced, nothing can fix it(no headshots make the DMR/NR totally UP, Neo.) All it needs is 75% melee standard, and the health pack glitch is mostly fixed.

Actually no, the AR is not useless, its better than its ever been in any game. Or atleast it should be. Its not a noob cannon, it has a place and a learning curve.

Ive embarrassed DMR users at short range with it by using it PROPERLY (in vanilla), if the DMR guy is even slightly less than good with his rifle. This is the way things should be. You can even rake someone down out to medium range if you three round burst it and aim well because the lockon stops way short of medium range.

Problem is it has become rather pointless in TU. Infact pickup up nearly any other gun is pointless now.

I like the reach AR better than any of the others and i regularly play games using nothing else, cos its a fun little gun.

Oh and i also love the pistol. A skilled pistol user beats a skilled AR user every time short range, and thats also the way things should be. But thats another gun that loses most of its utility in the face of the TU DMR spam cannon.

So, So True Fatal. The Dmr went from being a Designated Marksman Rifle intended for Mid range and long range engagements and now, it is effective at all ranges. Excessive in it’s capacity to pinpoint shoot the head of a Warthog gunner at spawn in Hemmorage, from their spawn zone. Rounds coming in at it’s max rate of fire as well I believe.

I dont’ think Bungie ever intended the Dmr to become a utility weapon like the Br. But it is one now.

I’ve always found the Ar to be very usefull in close range encounters. I favor it over the DMR all the time. Invasion is very nice for having some Assault Rifle fun(Even more so if you are a Filthy Heretic using an Assault Rifle).

In the event of two players charging one another, I acutally opt to curve to the left or the right around them, Tweaking my aim on their head. So as I curve the curve gets sharp enough that they fail to properly track me, Leaving me behind them. Alot of my beatdown medals come from those decisive back strikes. That’s just one of my tactics. Though i haven’t tried three round burst firing at Medium range targets, i’ll have to try that. I did a little of that today in Campaign, but that’s hardly shooting players.

AR is very very good for CQB once you get the shield pop timing just right, you can time your hit for literally the exact bullet that pops his shield. Guy never stood a chance.

Well you used to be able to do this but now we have lolbleedthrough so you can look forward to yet another sloppy kill trade instead.

Its good for invasion too because the elites are so much bigger target, catches more wayward rounds.

DMR is a nightmare on hemmy because you can back up to a wall, crouch and presto, you have a zero bloom DMR in your hands, fully accurate at full spam-rate further than you can even see, and a huge open map with almost no cover infront of you. I STILL havent dared benture into BTB since they changed it over cos it will probably make me want to snap my disc, and i used to play BTB alot.

As I once practiced on Hemmorage, Two people with Assault Rifles will tear a Spartan part and leave his smoking boots. We were off near the cave, in that sort of cove area; Lurking around that ridge to guard our Spawn from people coming through the cave/portal. A wraith rolled over, So naturally we popped sprint and dashed to the cave. Only to find some guy, who had failed two previous attempts at killing us, Who suddenly found two guys with AR’s killing him and not even slowing down. It’s very effective with converged fire, though most weapons are.

When i’m in the passenger side of the Revenant, I’ve opted to use the Assault rifle. 1 it’s easier to use while moving and two, Point defense. It lays out enough fire that i’ve unloaded on the vehicles the driver is aiming at to add a bit more punch to the damage.

It really does seem to me, that to truly appreciate Halo Reach’s sandbox, you have to Play the Invasion gametype. I didn’t think much of the Concussion rifle aside from flipping hogs, But when I got into a game against a full Invasion Skirmish against a party of five idiots and me; i gained a whole new appreciation for it. When I used it to bounce the Spartans with swords away from me. That and sucessive hits appear to accelerate people to the point they take collision damage. There have been a number of weapons I didn’t think much of and i gained new appreciation for them through Invasion, such as the Focus rifle.

Yeah invasion gets a bad rap but its actually great. Or it would be if people knew what they were doing. Id love to see some pro full sandbox invasion matches go down, but alas that has not occurred to them…

Surely they wont TU invasion though? That will be the death of it. Im not so sure they wouldnt anymore.
