I have posted in several threads with these remarks but I will put this out there once again.
Halo is evolving and with that things change with adding new features and or changing existing ones. Let Halo 4 be the start of A NEW series and do not compare it to the older games. You should still be able to play classic game modes in the many playlists or older games. A new game deserves to be judged on how it plays rather than its name association.
My whole point is people are judgeing a game before it is out and comparing it to a series/trilogy that has ended. Halo 4 is the start of a NEW series in the Halo universe. The game WILL be different and that is not a bad thing. If I wanted the same game I would have stopped buying Halo games after Halo CE. I still play Halo CE regularly but I do NOT want every Halo game to be a carbon copy of it in fact I want all the Halo games to be different. I want the universe to expand and change not remain still and to spoil by becoming stagnant.
We should be thankful for that we were shown anything this indepth at this time. In the Flood forum back in the old home Bungie.net we were talking about what might be shown today and none of us suspected this. We all thought maybe some info and screen shots of the enviroment or concept art. What we were shown was gameplay, information based on some equipment, the new look, some multiplayer and story elements,as well as a look at some multiplayer maps ect… We were given so much today in terms of information that we can discuss and the speculate on.
I would hope that all of you take into consideration these aspects of this game and Halo in general. Halo is changing and there are still plenty of the old nostalgia but we shouldn’t be so quick to condemn the game with no hands on game testing yet. One reason Halo Reach disapointed many is that they compared it to the previous Halo games and wanted it to be so much like them rather then taking the game and judging it for what it was if it were a stand alone with Halo cut from its title. The game as a shooter is great compared to many and we as a community judged it to harshly because of its previous installments.
Lets not do the same with Halo 4 ,lets give it the chance it deserves.
Play it then judge it.
Agreed. And well put. I play CE and H2 a lot because of the story. Like sid said, give H4 a chance, play it then judge.

I just see so much mindless hate for something they know next to nothing about and have yet to even try. If they do not like it after trying then thats okay.
> Lol, Halo 4 is Reach 2. You know it deep down inside, right past that layer of denial.
It would not be a bad thing for me I like Halo Reach , I like Halo ODST , and I liked Halo CE. Want to know why I liked these games? They were all different but they all held a dark gritty down to Earth feel with me and thats why I still enjoy them more than any of the other Halo games. I hope that the community does not condemn this game before it is even out but if it does I know I will probably still enjoy it for what it truly is and not what others tell me to think about it. I have been with this franchise for years and new things do not scare me.
343i could have gone back to tried and tested but tried and tested gets boring and tired. thank you 343i for giving us only few secounds of play and couple of screenshots of a fresh new look of halo but still halo. and what made halo great first was the story in the campagin.

I have no doubt the story will be very well done with all the resources and possibilities 343 has at its disposal. They plan on using book cannon and that gives them so much to work with that they have to just put the puzzle together in a playable form. The story and the beginning of this new series should be very interesting.
It’s a Halo game. Whether it’s part of a new series or not, it has Halo in it’s name. As long as Halo is in the name it will be compared to the past games, as well it should be.
Halo found what worked in H2 and H3 and for whatever reason they are straying further and further from that. Don’t get me wrong, I like new innovations, as long as they work and don’t dramatically change how the game is played. However, that is hardly the case, just look at Reach, a lot of people want to forget that game ever existed, and that’s because of the gamebreaking features they added.
I’m fine with them building and expanding on previous features that worked well, but completely changing the game just doesn’t fly.
PS I’m not hating on Halo 4, we don’t really have much information on it yet, but I am rather skeptical of what I have seen thusfar.
We probably got 20 secounds or there abouts of MP looked good, as for AAs nothing certain there yet and it can still change. What ever they do if it brings more to halo thats a good thing. This is going to be Halo’s secound wind it will be success that i am sure of
