I’m sure you’ve heard. It’s pretty much old news at this point. But this could be the answer to Halo MCC’s problems.
With the new Unified UI you will be able to party up and play any of the 3 BF games as long as you own them. I’ve been pretty adamant that Halo MCC has needed a complete relaunch with all the games coming as a separate game. With EA now proving that a single unified UI working with multiple games is actually possible I know I will be asking more for the entire Halo collection to be released as separate games.
The benefits of doing this would be fantastic. MS could release it under the play anywhere program. Boosting sales of the product on both the Xbone and PC. It would hugely boost the population. Cross playlists can be dropped and each game could get its own ranked and unranked modes. Maybe only keep cross playlists for more casual modes like multi-team or infection. Each game being available separately would see sales for each. A better public image for the game, 343i and MS. Halo Reach could be added without fear of further breaking the product. Maybe even consolidate the games in with Halo 5 and eventually Halo 6. Giving Halo it’s very own Halo portal that gives you access to all the Halo FPS titles. This would further allow players to jump between the games, increasing the likelihood of both older and newer titles being booted up. Not to mention the very consumer friendly approach of it all. Ensuring all games work, have a full suite of playlists and working, easy to understand and intuitive UI/party systems. Something that both Halo MCC and Halo 5 severely lacking.
Would it have server support? Maybe I’m just lacking in education on what this really is, I’ve never really heard of it. by server support tho would 343/Microsoft keep it in decent shape? Or would it be trash like mcc?

The Bf games work on a server.
And Yeah, each game would work separately on their own servers. Part of the reason that MCC is “trash” is because of the poor network coding.
Having each Halo title have its own dedicated server and playlist would kill population pretty fast. Hardly enough players play the MCC, and it is still riddled with lag and latency. Having a whole set of playlists for each title would probably plummet individual title numbers.
If (and this is a big if) there is going to be a unified UI, it would have to be H5 and the MCC. Not each title separate.
I also doubt they would put it on PC. Microsoft is adamant at keeping Halo console exclusive. They even retracted their statement about all future first party titles becoming play anywhere. Halo Online (if that ever comes out) and non FPS titles will probably be the only titles to hit PC.

Cross platform play and play anywhere is a huge boost to population though. It’s a selling point to the console. MCC’s population issues is actually being caused by the cross game playlists, and the terrible launch. People were excited to be able to play CE and H2 online again and then the game didn’t work, and when it did finally work they were left playing Halo 3 or Halo 4.
That kind of experience going on for months on end, and then the release of Halo 5 is what killed the population. It’s impossible to use MCC as a measure of the popularity of the games because of this.

Well considering all they did was just take the original code from the games and just slap them in there with little to no extra work done on them.

It;s a single menu that you can party up on, make squads and then boot up a game. Only instead of only playing one game, it will be able to play all 3 next gen BF games without having to swap games and party back up again.
So it would be like the MCC menu, except it works with the separate BF games.

wow…that sounds great, yeah I agree, I think they should implement that.
I was actually thinking about this awhile ago for future games as a way of helping keep the older games alive a little longer and making it easier to switch back and fourth. This would be more difficult if on disc unless they lax the disc requirements to putting it in once very six hours or until the XBox is off or something like that.
Let’s let Battlefield be the trendsetter here and find out how it affects each games population, as well as the total population, and how it will function in the future with new games.
As far as MCC goes, I am still adamant it should have just been The Master Chief Trilogy, “halo” 4 was a steaming pile of liquid feces in every way you looked at it if you acknowledge it a Halo game. Even if you kept all the bugs in MCC, it would automatically be better without “halo” 4.
