I wanted to finish the commendation for this gun, and while using it i noticed the projectiles are terrible slow. Light of urs and pool of radiance are useful but the base fuel rod, a spartan sprint is faster than the projectiles really. Is this gun for suicide? because it is only most likely to hit in melee range. for me the rocket pod turret is a bit more useful. And in the description of the weapon it says the new model is more accurate. i really dont think so. Is it just me or the fuel rod really is terrible?
No I don’t think it’s you, I never seem to have any luck with it at all and when playing Super Fiesta I’ll ditch it as soon as possible for something else. Never touch it also when playing WZ…
If you’re going to finish the Fuel Rod commendation, same rules with the Rocket Launcher or Incineration Cannon (or any explosive weapon) still apply. Aim at your target’s feet or at a nearby wall / surface. Don’t hesitate in firing 2-3 shots to kill someone. A direct hit will always kill someone, but only do so if you know you can land that shot.
Fuel Rod does have slightly slower projectiles (with a slight arc on them) compared to either the Incineration Cannon or the Rocket Launcher (or, at least, that’s the way it seems to me)
My suggestion would be to get closer with the Fuel Rod and take your enemy by surprise. Everyone knows that the Fuel Rod sounds like (and that the projectile is a massive glowing green ball), but they probably won’t be checking behind them to see if it’s coming from behind, and if you’re close, the travel time and arc will have less of a chance to negatively impact your killing potential.
But hey. That’s just what I’d do.

Best bet is to play Super Fiesta. Easiest way to complete those
I STRONGLY disagree. The Fuel Rod cannon is amazing! It can be used to pressure enemies, and often Spartans are over aggressive and will charge right at you, leaving them as easy targets. Also, most Spartans running away are predictable, so you should be able to EASILY lead and hit them. The reason you’re doing bad is most likely because you use it like it’s a Rocket Launcher instead of a FRC. Also, it destroys vehicles and the Core in Warzone quicker than almost anything else. AND with such a low Req Cost?!? It is in my opinion one of the best weapons in Halo of all time.
The basic fuel rods power was tuned down its ok if enemies are attacking you but seems poor as an offensive weapon the light of urs however is an absolute beast when used properly. I’m not keen on the light of radiance as the projectiles are extremely slow.

Yup, i treat it as a rocket launcher or incinerator. I just wish in the next game they dump their own desigh of fuel rod and bring backk H2 fuel rod. That thing was far better than what we have now.

Okay now i understand. It was tuned down just like every loadout weapon(except the magnum) that became crap because of tuning. Thanks for letting me know
