The FUD trailer seemed a little...

Ahead of itself. The entire time, all we see are the Marines shouting angrily, and shooting at nothing with explosions going off.

Then, when the Covenant do show up, they don’t show them. The only time Halo has hidden the Covenant in the shadows was the beginning act of The Pillar of Autumn. I hope it isn’t like this in the final show, because as of right now, I feel like the Marines are psychopathic people running around screaming in halloween costumes. It’s a very pretentious approach.

On top of that, why is the color saturation so low? When, other than Reach’s inferior art style, has Halo ever looked so dirty and colorless? Come on, I want my flashy, out in the open, colorful Halo! Otherwise, it feels like I’m watching a generic war movie.

Not much of an advertisement.

I thought the same thing. I thought they were about to show the Covenant, then the Chief pops up. Cool, but where are the enemies? The Marines kept shooting at nothing.

And personally, I though Reach had very vibrant colors and great detail. Of course, I’m playing on HD.

I kinda got that too. It’s like a bunch of kids(literally all looked under 18…) wearing bike helmets and yellow tinted sunglasses screaming and playing cops and robbers. The only BA part was the Master Chief jump.

I agree, lots of boom boom and shouting and little to no plot. Master Chief’s appearance just killed it for me, and his movement just felt awkward as heck, and his dialog ugh…
Marine armour looks very insubstantial, like someone else said.
We’ll see.

All the shooting before Chief showed up was actually training So they were firing at each other. Second, the reason no Covenant were seen, is because this trailer was made before they added all the FX. And since the Covenant will likely be 75% FX at least, then thats why they weren’t visible.

I’m worried that they won’t have the budget to have well-animated covenant on-screen for extended periods of time. Hopefully I’ll be proven wrong.

As for the “haloween costumes”, I think those are just the training uniforms. I mean, they are young recruits at a military acadamy, and you don’t really get a good view of the actual Marine suits after the “action” starts.

The Chief’s armor, on the other hand, does look pretty costume-ish

Doesn’t change the fact that it was an unimpressive trailer.

Hahaha. This all the way.

That’s only to build tension and excitement. Of course the end product will have great story and won’t be constant ‘psychopaths’ running around screaming and explosions everywhere.

They are saving them for a big reveal clearly.

And Reach’s art style was anything but inferior.

But again, you’re proving that people will always find something to whine about.

Their probably hiding the Covenant so we don’t see them so it will be a surprise when we do, remember in the trailer for Prometheus we never get to see what the aliens look like in the trailer we had to go see the movie so we have to watch FUD to see the Covenant.

You say that because we have never seen the Chief in a live-action video rather than the game unless it was something fanmade.

Because they want the reveal of the live action Covenant to be done properly? Like in the show?

And the color saturation is low because this is a military story, not a space opera.

No, the costume’s reaction to light doesn’t give the impression that it’s not plastic.

That is what I was thinking when watching the trailer, and was slightly disappointed.

The washed out look. Is for war movies

Saving private Ryan

Band of brothers

Ect

I liked the trailer a lot, but it could have been better with the above inclusions.

I absolutely loathe this excuse. It’s the same excuse Marty used for making the music in Reach generic and boring.

The fact that this is a ‘military story’ does not justify robbing it of its trademark color and style. It’s counter-productive to drastically change the art style and tone because it feels alienated from the rest of the Halo series. Something like this needs to stick to the established style of the dominant games, which is the trilogy. It doesn’t feel like I’m watching Halo.

No, it feels like you’re watching a live action Halo installment about the military.

Which has been established by literally every other live action Halo short in the franchise’s history as a gritty war film. You know what the vibrant colors of Halo 4 would look like in a live action UNSC Helljumper military base? Like a cartoon. Like it or not, the vibrant colors do not fit well with the hardcore look of the Marines or UNSC. Live action art style is different from a game world’s art style. You can only go so far before you start looking like a cartoon.

Oh God dude stop talking like your opinion is fact.

Firstly, Reach had an amazing sound track.

Secondly, Don’t like future Military? Then you should not be playing Halo.

Finally, Stop whining, your complaints are not even constructive.
