I’ve been an Xbox and halo fan since CE came out. So I understand any sort of apprehension about bringing an exclusive to a competing platform. But in the age of free to play games, I don’t think a FTP game has an argument for exclusivity. The goal at that point isn’t to move Xboxes, it’s to make cash. I say keep the campaign exclusive but move the multiplayer component to all available platforms. This will inject a MASSSIVE audience into Halo, one… imho that is sorely needed and will truly make Halo competitive against COD and Battlefield.
I can definitely see the merits to it but I still don’t see it happening. The biggest thing PlayStation has over Xbox is exclusives and I don’t see the heads of Microsoft porting their number one exclusive to their biggest competitor. The only chance it could have was if somehow gamepass was eventually offered on PlayStation but that’s still highly unlikely.
Honestly if Microsoft could sell Gamepass subscriptions on PS5 they absolutely would do this. I actually have very little doubt about that.
I agree. If halo has any hope of surviving it has to branch out, although I’m sure it’s too late for Infinite to make it to ps5 at this point
Calling Infinite an exclusive game is a stretch to me. It’s going to be available on every major device except for Playstation’s and Nintendo’s consoles. And even then people who really want to can stream the campaign through an xCloud profile (even MP, but I assume it would be nearly impossible to actually get a kill).
I don’t think you should worry about Infinite’s accessibility to players based on console exclusivity, since MS stopped playing the traditional console exclusivity game a while ago.
They can get Halo Infinite multiplayer when they give us God of war, spiderman, Demon Souls, Bloodbourne, etc.
I mean if it’s all about money, then they can sell more copies of those games on xbox

Not much of a stretch, it’s a “Microsoft exclusive” game. It will only be on Microsoft platforms.
No offense, but that’s a crazy idea. Halo was an xbox/pc game (ik it was originally for mac) and still is. It started Xbox. No need to give it to PlayStation.
Halo sells Xbox consoles. It would crazy to port the game.
lol what?
yeah I think the -Yoink- not, that’s a -Yoink- move

And PC
And mobile
And Playstations web browser
And Mac web browsers
…
Doesn’t sound Microsoft platform exclusive to me, but it’s probably semantics over whether you count being on xCloud as available on the device I suppose.

That platform being *Gamepass.*Microsoft wants Gamepass on Switch and allow you to stream the Gamepass library over the internet and onto your Switch. They wouldn’t block Halo from it either. Easy to see them saying the same about Playstation. Imagine making as much money as they would if you had bought their console, but also not actually have to sell you a console at a loss nor lose platform holder revenue to their competition either. Sounds like a good deal for them.
