The Friend-Foe highlight is actually not that bad

I was skeptical when I heard about it but seeing it in action on yesterday’s stream, its actually not bad.

I will still hold off making a final conclusion until I actually play, but I’m at least less worried about it now.

I’m not TOO worried about it. this is one of those things that worked well in other games so I don’t mind bringing it to halo.

that being said I recall I think it was halo 4 maybe (I don’t know didn’t play a lot of halo 4 or 5) where you could customize your colors as long as you used some shade of the team you were on. am I remembering that correctly? I still like that idea better.

Very true. The amount of colours you are able to pick from seems very broad as well so I hope there are some greyish colours so you can only highlight your teammates.
Seems like the shield animations are a bit tuned down as well which is nice. Don’t really see the value from the way hits register per body part however like seen in the weapon drills.

I feel like the players being shot were very red. I’m excited to see it on my own screen in 4k, think it will look beautiful.

I don’t know why I watched it on YouTube, the compression is awful. Should have stuck to Twitch.

I think the Friend/Foe system is really good! I do wish however we can customize the thickness of the outline! There were times where I had to second check with the tech preview they showed. But other than that it’s amazing for people with visual issues!

I think it might reduce accidental teamkills, but time will tell on that one.

Yep, even if the default red/blue/green outlines don’t do it for you, you can always find a colour combination that works for you. I was pretty much sold on the idea since it was first announced, but seeing it action in a full 4v4 match was a nice way to confirm that it works well enough.

i never thought it was a bad thing. It took me awhile to even notice the chance when watching the new gameplay. If anything its better because ofc you get to have ur own colors in all game modes, but more because there never will be any issues now seeing you’re target with all the different flashy effects and lighting effects going on in lvls. A good example of hard to see spartans for example is in halo 2 anniv edition mp. This new system fixes all that as well.
