So, this is happening since the Tech Previews but until now I gave myself to talk about this.
It’s simple as this: the higher your FOV level is, the smaller your reticle will be, and not only smaller but also different in some ways.
If you lower your FOV level, your reticle is bigger.
First of all, i don’t really know if this is a bug or a feature.
If it’s a bug i certainly don’t know if it’s known by the team.
Anyway, i think that this is something the team should look into. Yes, if you have a higher FOV you have a smaller reticle which can translate to a higher accuracy, but at the same time the reticle loses some purpose since is not showing you the actual Bloom of the weapon, it is smaller but it’s not showing you how your bullets spread, which is an important feature of the reticles.
Also, people who suffers dizziness while playing with higher FOV levels it’s on a disadvantage, even with what was said about the reticles, weapons wiih no Bloom like the BR become easier to use if you have a tiny reticle.
And let me start speaking about myself and my issue with this: i don’t have any visual issues known, but i play on a TV a little far from where I play and i can’t see anything with high FOV levels, and the fact that people who plays with high FOV has smaller reticles feels like a disadvantage to me too, specially while playing ranked where everyone starts with the BR, which has no Bloom at all.
I think the game should have a global reticle size that doesn’t changes depending on your FOV, people who doesn’t play with higher FOV’s whatever the reason should not be on a disadvantage against people who does.
We can say this issue is related with the health of some people, and it’s important for the game to be fair, in my opinion this should be changed if this is how it was designed or fixed if it’s a visual bug.
Thanks for reading, i appreciate any responses or clarifications, have a nice Halo-days!
