Halo fans all around the world, casual, competitive, on the forums absolutely insulted that 343 even released this game. It’s been called a beta with non-functioning essentials such as file share and broken mechanics that also can’t be turned off such as join in progress, it’s been called a CoD ripoff with load outs perks and ordinance (also various other CoD esque things), it’s been called NOT a Halo game, it’s multiplayer has been flamed with it’s flaws and annoyances or ‘broken’ mechanics/weapon balance, it’s playlists have been called ‘terrible’ and ‘boring’.
Some of these things are probably true, or probably not. I don’t want to go in depth in those things, so all I do know for sure is that the forums have been flooded with outrage and dissapointment ever since this game was released. Every. Single. Thread. Is talking about the downfalls. And I do know for sure that this is definitely the worst I have ever seen the Halo community, even worse than just after Reach. The vast majority of the community HATE this game. The thread ‘Custom game options are unacceptable, 343.’ has 1220 thanks! That’s such a large portion of the community and it’s hard to ignore.
I can’t speak for everyone, but I know that this game failed the majority of the Halo community. It was 343’s first full game and I know they had a messed up development. In reality Halo 4 was probably the most rushed of all Halo games. 343 has messed up big time on almost every aspect of this game and there’s nothing they could have done about it or can do about it now, unless they get out a big TU very soon. Switching over a well known established franchise to a newly formed studio is a very messy thing to do, and it is evident.
