hey hey lets not get that agreeisve here okay? its his opinion on the matter let him speak his opinion
You did not just say this and actually mean it.
The problem is we’re not telling the right people. Because it’s being treated like an assignment, rather than a project. Games need to have a goal release date, that way they don’t stay in development forever, but Publishers have got to stop forcing out these premature products with the mentality of “we can patch it later”.
That’s a problem when they see $ only if it’s released early before the compition
Yea I go there quite a bit too, r/halo story is also great if you just wanna headcanon lore with people
I don’t get why anyone can claim that. The flight/beta was planned and release literally with barely anytime whatsoever to make major changes and from my professional opinion this comes off as being reckless. Not only that but they also made wild claims that later everyone found out were entirely false. People like to jump on Microsoft as the ‘scape-goat’ and people did the same with Bungie until people realised what was actually happening after they quit and then teamed up with Activision for a while.
Just to be clear I don’t blame the entire 343i staff but I do blame whoever made these decisions since there the ones that put people in the firing line and I believe the decision makers need to be accountable for their actions and they shouldn’t be ignored just because some people think that 343i can do no wrong. As far as I’m aware there is no evidence to proof that Microsoft forced 343i to lie so I’m not going into conspiracy theory but only the evidence that is actually known.
But you can tell that people put their hearts into the game….
Some idiot in charge is the cause for most of this
See that’s why I don’t blame everyone but I also know that it was 343i that did make the claims because it was directly from them so I’m mainly annoyed at the decision makers and I feel sorry for the people at 343i getting harassed due to other people making poor decisions and I do not understand why any dev would push this game out in the way they did because it kind of felt like they were trying to self-sabotage their own game and that is concerning for the future of the IP and the customers/staff that enjoy the franchise.

Agreed. I’ve made a couple posts about what I’d like to see added to the game, and they just get buried by the same repetitive complaints. Trust me, I dislike the progression/customization as much as the next guy, but we’ve already given them all the best ideas on how to fix it - now it’s up to 343 to implement these changes, and it’s clear they’re willing to listen to us.
The lack of content all around is disappointing as well, but there’s nothing we can do about it now. All we can do is patiently wait for them to add more to the game, and while we’re waiting, tell them what we’d like to see.
I guess it’s easy to get lost in the negativity and forget that we’re all just fans that want the best for the franchise. I think we can all agree that Infinite has a strong foundation though - I’m hopeful that it’ll fulfill its potential and become the definitive Halo experience in time.
And i think it is microsoft being greedy and just wanting money
Lol! You’d love the discord, they ban anyone for wrong think. Just hop in there and have a blast praising the game as gods gift to humanity!
I doubt that happens a lot plus I only use discord to talk to my mates but that’s it
Happens plenty, you’d be suprised how quickly you’d get banned for being “toxic” with no proof of what you did
Haven’t you heard? If you don’t like the state of the game, you’re an entitled toxic manbaby that wants everything for free.
That’s not the general take that’s blanketing the whole thing
exactly. anytime I’ve posted something about terrible things in this game you have people coming in with snarky comments because “mah halo”
Kinda did. My coding teacher has been all over for when I submitted a game that crashed every other time you pressed the start button (BTB). If a game crashes every now and again that’s fine it’s expected but every time? Even parts in the campaign? Yea it’s not an A, B, maybe a low C if your being generous, which you shouldn’t be because they are making a profit off it. Even if they actually showed us a road map where they want the game to go would’ve been something they could’ve done
It’s probably relatively complicated to develop games that supports a large plethora of different devices. This is especially difficult if we consider PCs where there may exist many differences between different devices. It’s not given that the hardware or software configurations are the same for every player and it’s pretty much impossible to test every single software/hardware combination.
I have never, not once, had Campaign crash on me. Yes, I realize I am one person, yet this isn’t even a complaint that I have seen from others. Not once, before this insinuation.
As for BTB, is that a fault on the game itself, or the servers? Regardless this whole comparison of treating Halo Infinite as a school project and being graded is just… It’s a comparison that doesn’t work. In the reality of how video games are put out today, when the Publisher says it’s time, that’s the final word. Whether it’s ready or not. And quite often, as we have seen with many games, the timeline is unrealistic to the demand for what the game should be, and is dismissed (by the Publishers and Executives) with “patch it later”.
A road map, as well, takes time and sets goals that might equally be unrealistic. Look at Cyberpunk 2077 and their ever-shifting road map. It does nothing to placate the fanbase, it takes time from actually addressing the problems (which also leads to more problems with fans -Blam!-ing about lack of transparency and communication), and it generates blame being directed in entirely the wrong place.
Nothing will change until Publishers stop treating video games as Get Rich Quick commodities, and there is a return to form in regards to art and storytelling.
