It saddens me to see posts like this, not only is the game lacking but as with all things lately people just complain and complain and pounce on anyone with a different opinion, there’s gems of greatness to be found in Infinite and with patience I hope it will improve, we can all go on rants sometimes just gotta look on the bright side and smash games with tha boys. And it definitely don’t hurt to take breaks from all vidya forums, they can be too depressing after a while.
Best thing you can do is logout and enjoy the game.
The forums are mostly concerned with presenting weak arguments and is an echo chamber for childish remarks. There’s not much of constructive criticism or mature debates here. You’re either a shill or a fan who knows what’s best for the franchise and nothing else makes sense or matters otherwise.
My biggest issue with Waypoint right now is…are people literally too dumb to use a forum?
I mean, there are so, so, so many post about the same issue. Is it too much to ask to use the search and check whether or not there already is a post about it?
When you start a new post, it even offering you similar posts to the right.
And then there are all these worthless clickbait headlines like “It really is sad”, “Question for the Halo Community” or “Sort of disappointed, sorry”. Perhaps those posts contain the greatest texts ever written, but I just don’t care if you’re too lazy to pick a headline which sums up the essence of what you want to say. You probably learned this in…I don’t know…6th grade?
Over all, it feels like there are way too many people running around overestimating their individual importance.
But if you actually want 343 to listen to your feedback, you have to serve it properly. Nobody over there has the time to click every mysteriously sounding Post. And they can’t search for specific issues, if you don’t provide good tags etc.
I do not think 343 rushed the realease, i 100% believe that most of this krap is pushed by Microsoft. All the core stuff that 343 has absolute control over like the gameplay adn story are all really good yet everything microsoft may have control over like monotization and wheb said game comes out suck.
I can tell you this one did not have a well written OP. Just senseless complaining that tries to get across a point but it just reads as “I’ve been here since Halo 1 and I’ve been here to see the franchise fall and this is stupid but I’m going to keep playing”.
There was no real point to be made other than 343 deserving the senseless hate they’ve been receiving because the game is failing. Straw man argument that begs the question that ultimately lead to circular reasoning.
I’m for criticism, when there’s actually a critique. So far a lot of the posts have just been “I’m here to complain senselessly” and it becomes an echo chamber of negativity that leads nowhere.
There is valid criticism here, unfortunately when some get pissed at 343 for underselling fans (they kinda did), they will voice their frustration, whether it’d be constructive or an outright rage fit. 343 hears that, I assure you and yeah they understand as much as I think a lot might not think that.
I share a lot of opinions about the fact that Infinite was rushed out, not Cyberpunk rushed but rushed out in the way that another delay could have had allowed them to punch co-op and forge in at release. I can’t even begin to tell you how much I do wish the release were delayed again until sometime this year. But it’s 343s first live service Halo, so sure they messed up, it’s pretty much MCC all over again which while unfortunate also leads me to believe that the problem overall lies with the parent, Microsoft. The problem also lies with the management shakeup 343 had in Infinite’s development which a lot of fans took it as the future of the game looking grim. It’s very likely that the shakeup was because they knew Infinite had to be delayed more than once and they probably didn’t agree either with the absurd amount of MTXs.
So that being said, I do think that 343 was pressured by Microsoft to release the game as a way to sell Series Xs. They have the Limited Halo Infinite Edition Series X, so they definitely wanted to make those sales. But in the end, the quality of Halo Infinite was sacrificed for those sales. It’s the sin of corporate greed, and by that standard Microsoft is to blame for that. But it’s also on 343 for not standing up and saying “we know the games not done and needs another delay, you know fans are going to be upset, give us time”. But Microsoft pretty much was “it’s a live service game, figure it out along the way, we don’t care now do it”
Might I remind you that Destiny 2 was in a bad place because of Activision. Now did Bungie vaulting outdated content piss people off, well sure. But Destiny 2 is in a much better place then when Activision was in charge because Bungie finally said, enough is enough, we’re taking charge. 343 just has to do the same, not necessarily break from Microsoft but put their foot down and say “you want the game to be a success, give us the time we need”. Look where MCC on PC is now than when it was first launched on the OG Xbox One. Unfortunately it’ll be the same way with Infinite.
A lot of people agree with you. Youre not alone. I honestly think 343 did a great job with infinite but some things do need to be changed. I don’t think you should leave the forums until you at least see all the people that agree with you
Litterally. This post is part of the problem. Sorry to break it to you but this is bad practice from 343 and it needs to be stopped. Period.
All this post is doing is fanning the flames of an already hot fire.
On top of that this place SHOULD be about feedback. I think every time a post like this is made it wastes times. It’s just “complaining about complainers” as they say.
