And it’s mainly how negative it’s become over infinite I’ve seen posts that try to be positive and give feedback only to be buried underneath the negativity and even when I try to state my opinion I get berated for it being on their side
Here’s where I stand on infinite and it’s my opinion
1: I’m having fun with the mop like a lot and I haven’t encountered some of the issues people have said (side not how the heck is that possible anyway?)
2: I liked the campaign the exploration the story it felt great
3: I agree the store needs fixes but I don’t go out of my way to harass anyone thst did buy something from the store
4: I’m just tired of coming here getting berated for saying what’s on my mind not a good thing
So yeah after this I’m done with the forums it turned from a place to talk about halo to “if you don’t hate 343 for anything your a sheep a shill a Stan a boot licker and a fanboy get lost your part of the problem”
Like stop this at the core of this we ALL want infinite to be successful and this kinda blam ain’t gonna help so how bout instead of being an -Yoink!- think before you type there are human beings on the other side of your screen so please can we as fans and as a community try to make infinite shine and rise to what we all want it to be the best halo of all time and try to get along
Halo Waypoint has went straight into the dark ages. Not only is it far less popular than it once was (at least, that’s what my memory tells me) but its also far less constructive and useful than what it once was as well.
If you wanna see quality content I know for sure Reddit is full of useful posts and discussions (they also post memes, but that’s neither here nor there) and maybe Discord/Twitter are also good places I don’t know.
I mean Reddit can be just as toxic if not more. They literally locked the entire subreddit down because people were doxxing eachother and sending death threats over a video game…
It still is, it’s just people are fed up with this companies BS making all these false promises.

I don’t blame anyone for being negative knowing how 343/Microsoft ruined Halo and for what, greed as if that is a hell of a lot more important than making a quality type of game?
Sounds like to me 343/ Microsoft need to get their priorities straight, and they can start by pulling their head out of the sand. Correction, No more BS excuses from a multi-billion dollar company.
It’s 2022, it’s time for them after a decade to get their act together, period.
Well I’ve seen a good deal of the stuff on Reddit, definitely filled to the knees with memes/entertainment posts but there are also tons of useful and constructive criticism posts. There was one that brung up the UI for selecting weapons at FOB’s, multiple that talk about what people would like to see from DLC, that sort of thing.
I just think that the overall quality (probably because they can post pictures/videos, and more users in general) is a good deal higher. I can’t tell you how many people on here I’ve blocked. There are people on here that have no idea what they’re talking about and due to ego believe they know more than anybody else and so forth. Its cringe on here at best.
They’re Multi-billion dollar company, making their pitfalls far more baffling.
IDK man Microsoft seems to run many things into the ground. Be it bought studios or things like the windows phone.
But they can get away with it, I think they have some dollars for bad times, when a couple of projects don’t work out.
And judging from the amounts of cats I saw and the burning helmets on day 1, 2 and 3 I guess they see Halo as up and running, working as intended and profitable.
The problem here at the moment is that there are too many posts going over the same tiresome points.
Often with emotional hyperbole.
It’s exhausting… And tends to drown out other discussions.
And nobody reads the previous posts. How many people start posts complaining about how ranking works. There are listed of posts (mine included) that give some context. But the next day more posts pop up.
The old Waypoint quarantined discussions to one thread. Playable Elites and Classical Movement the two examples that comes to mind. At the very least it made it easy to read what has already been discussed.
Hopefully we can head in that direction at some stage. You can still complain about store prices as much as you want… But just in the one spot.
There isn’t a lot that I know about gaming, but it doesn’t take brain surgery to realize they could have easily gone about things in a much better matter.
I was this close to pull out a doc and start blasting those keys with things I miss and ideas to better things, but yeah, nobody would benefit from the hundredth thread about that.
If you truly believe this game is good, than I have to question if you played the other Halos. I’ve been playing since H1 and all of the Halos had so much progression in them. Sick looking armor to unlock for beating campaign on legendary, armor to unlock for completing achievements like the Katana, an over all level plus a better ranking system, a service record with tons of stats to compare with friends, cool modes such as firefight warzone and action sack, multiple ranked playlists, with a bunch of great maps, and great weapons, and vehicles that didnt break down instantly. Halo is changing too much and moving away from its roots, and the fans are not happy.
Here’s the thing I get where you’re coming from and I wish things could be better but this isn’t just about players but also behaviour from 343i. I get people have their idea’s of what’s wrong with game design but it isn’t just about that. Also about the fact that 343i lied and has been in the past not very respectful towards fans but that doesn’t mean all fans don’t act like that either.
I feel like these problems won’t go away anytime soon and will continue until 343i make major changes but the problem is the issues that has been going on with 343i has been a problem for years and people are just sick of it. I feel the website blowing up negativity is just something that’s been brewing for a while.
It’s like they claimed that reddit was shutdown due to ‘specific’ fans doing stupid things but most of the actual threads were actually complaints about things like the Battle store being predatory and I kind of feel like 343i are trying to dodge that altogether but now the population is constantly dropping to -52% population.
And I find it depressing that 343i on purpose rushed a release they know was not ready and yet people at 343i got harassed because higher ups made a decision that put people at risk and that is frightening since it basically feels like 343i management don’t respect people in my Q/A field of work.
I’ve said this before in the forums several times that the flights/ beta’s should not have been so close to the release because there is very little time to make major changes based on feedback.
I completely agree with you. Although for me it is the best 343 Halo I’ve played.
I played 4 and 5 once.
Halo 1 I must’ve played through hundreds of times, same with Halo 2, that even more though.
Man I miss those Halo Free PC Trial blood gulch matches too. I miss what Halo once was.
New waypoint has that capacity as well, the tutorial even goes over it. But as is tradition, this too has launched in a barebones state that we have to wait for them to update.
I come here to fanboy, and find this place full of critics. I know Halo has it’s shortcomings, but they’re not enough to spoil my enjoyment. Everyone here posting their pros and cons lists and I truly don’t care. I’m here to throw grunt birthday parties and chill.
Forums generally suck. Why do you think imdb closed theirs? It always eventually fosters hatred and whining. Even if a lot of it is valid. Typically people enjoying things aren’t going to post about it a lot. Unhappy and dissatisfied people will. And it creates a culture that feeds itself. And it’s hard not to get sucked in and swayed by negativity.
