This will most likely get tons of hate but I couldn’t care at this point, after a day of trying out forge it’s still beyond confusing to me, I still cant figure out how to drag an object? can you drag an object? theres no tutorial for this or the ability to change its controls (the controls suck too). Well done 343 for -Yoinking!- up something else loved by many
Yep I agree. From H3 onwards I’ve enjoyed forging my own maps but these controls are doing my head in still after hours of use! There was no need to change them! Annoying to say the least!
Im still getting use to the newer controls and I find it more enjoyable to learn something. Sure Halo Reach and 3 had easier controls but with this newer Forge System, I don’t mind relearning what I know because at the same time it is new. Besides I like a challenge.
They really don’t
Just becuase youre too lazy to give time to learn and adjust, doesn’t mean they suck.
The controls are just as easy to use as past forges. The more complex forge becomes, the more complex the controls will become…
also, it tells you all the controls on the screen, just read.

it does show the controls but doesnt tell you how to do anything, and still doesnt tell you how to drag something (if you even can that is)

You mean pressing the left trigger and then moving?
The left trigger, when you have an object selected, is the object movement properties. The right trigger is rotational properties.
But you saw this big controls list on the left screen aiight?
With Bumper jumper Controler settings:
Right Bumper=Mark Object, mutliple markers possible, holding right bumper and aim on object does mark everthing in it’s way, works on any range, wich means get comfortable spot and work from there.
You need to mark object’s to move/drag them, since object are marked you can move them by Holding left trigger.
Holding right trigger will show up possible rotation, holding Left and right triger together will show you an alternate rotation mode.
Marked object can be duplicated by pressing RIght on your Dped and get deleted by holding left on the Dped.
X button will show world options or Object options.
Controls are good ,just get used to them, they save tons of time while building stuff!

what do you mean drag?
Hold LT and move the stick… it’s not rocket science. lol.
you prove my point in people being way too lazy to learn and adjust to the new controls, which tbh, are alot better and more fluid
Agreed its very complex I’ve gotten down how to move and spawn and snap things but so much isn’t described you just have to go in blind and hope you get better at the design of Forge is great but the delivery is bad, it’s like giving some one a
Who has never seen a power tool a drill and telling them to just use it.
After forging my first map in Halo 5, the controls are not that bad. They were confusing at first, but now they make so much sense. It kind of feels like I am working in a simplified version of 3DS Max and that is a good thing.
They’re working great now that I’ve gotten used to them.
Step 1: Get off the forums.
Step 2: Read the directions on the side of the screen for controls.
Step 3: Build that muscle memory.
Step 4: Build epic stuff.
Step 5: Tell people to do steps 1-4 on the forum instead of complaining.
