The Forerunner Challenge

In preparation for the epic continuation in the Halo series, im sure many of you have something special planned. I had a thought, which was to complete all Halo games’(excluding Wars) campaign missions before Halo 4’s release. This must be done within a certain amount of time.

Then i thought, what if everyone did this, with rules and rewards?

I think this could be a great way to bring the community together, hype Halo 4, and re-experience Bungies masterpiece so we can embrace the future of Halo. Ill come up with rewards, somehow, and make specific rules. The reason im making this now, is to see your ideas about it.

So any rules, rewards, or other ideas on this “Forerunner Challenge” im building?

For Halo 4!

Way ahead of you, man. I plan to start with a playthrough of Reach on Legendary
in September, then move on to the other games. It’s gotta be in chronological order, though.

Flawless Legend- Do Not die for the entirety of all the games.

> Flawless Legend- Do Not die for the entirety of all the games.

If you die, start from the first game.

> > Flawless Legend- Do Not die for the entirety of all the games.
>
> If you die, start from the first game.

that’s rough, imagine a last level death.

Thats going to be hard to do on the library, cortana, and almost all the H2 missions.

hey, if you manage to survive all 3 games you can finally call yourself master chief.

Tried to do it before, got stuck on Halo 2’s Cairo Station, man its frustrating to not have any plasma pistols to take down the shields, and I kept getting the Zealot when I wanted that Dual Wielder and I was not gonna walk up to 4 Ultras and 1 zealot to make them get swords so they don’t shoot me on that catwalk where they usually just throw grenades onto. That was right before the Priority Shift chapter where the Athens station blows up.
And I was doing a Legendary run on all games except Wars.

That would be insane

Imagine getting through all the games, no deaths, and you’re on the Halo 3 warthog run.

Fall short on the last jump into the FUD
break everything in room

Speed runs. That and you didn’t label a difficulty. I’d throw down Legendary just cause I’m that kind of guy, but in all seriousness, CE and 2 had some MAJOR level altering glitches to them… made things almost seem too easy.

My rules:

  1. Pending difficulty, you have access to certain weapon classifications for usage throughout the mission:

-Easy: Initial loadout only.

-Normal: Basic Human/Covenant weapons (basically, exclude all power weapons)

-Heroic: All Generic weapons (all human or covenant weapons, based on game and species being played upon spawn) + Small Arms of other species.

-Legendary: All weapons usage including sentinel beams.

  1. Known speed run and/or glitching not allowed.

  2. All enemies, within reason, must be killed in immediate area before continuing.(i.e., you don’t need to fight any of the buggers in Halo: Reach, New Alexandria)

  3. Difficulty modifiers are optional.

  4. Overall ranking of gameplay is designated by difficulty up to LASO Difficulty.

  5. Film + File share or it didn’t happen. Halo: Combat Evolved would need to be completed on Halo: CEA to count naturally, otherwise, proper software for CE PC could count.

  6. Good luck.

That’s just my list though…

I am going to paly all the games on Legendary from Halo Wars till Halo 3. (=

I’m going through all except Reach. Can’t stand the campaign.

Why can’t Halo Wars be included? Just because it wasn’t developed by Bungie?

I still think it’s a great game in the franchise and it’s canonical.

Legendary was intense, however

My challenge: Ancient Customs

Can you survive the Sangheilian rite of passage?

H1 - Escort the sword Zealot on Two Betrayals down the elevator.

Rules: Any difficulty, save and quit allowed, any variant (Xbox, PC, Anniversary)

Hint #1: Lure him, get him stuck on a ledge near the door, jump to the other bridge
Hint #2: Get him to fight the Flood in the first room for you. Use him as a distraction
Hint #3: You’re going to have to leave him behind at some points so you can fight the Flood and Covies
Hint #4: Play on Legendary. Zealots pursue you more persistently and your shield recharges faster
Hint #5: I didn’t say he had to be alive…

H2 - On Cairo Station, bring 2 sword Ultra Elites from the 2nd airlock into the elevator leading to the bomb room.

Hint #1: Turn on Thunderstorm.
Hint #2: Don’t turn your back away.
Hint #3: Stay alive while in the airlock with the 2 sword Elites.
Hint #4: Get both Elites to melee you simultaneously at the elevator so they both end up inside.

H3 - On The Covenant, fight the 12 Brutes on the third bridge.

Rule #1: Turn on Mythic, Thunderstorm, Tough Luck, Grunt Birthday, Cowbell, IWHBYD
Rule #2: Heroic
Rule #3: Don’t trigger the Flood at the 2nd bridge. Get on teh roof instead
Rule #4: On the 2nd bridge, don’t kill any Brutes on your way to the 3rd bridge. It’s ok if Arby kills them but it’d be better to have no early casualties. Oh and don’t kill the 2 fuel rod Grunts either.

Hint #1: Bring 3 Arbiters.
Hint #2: Give your Arbiters swords.
Hint #3: Bring camo or invincibility.
Hint #4: At the 3rd bridge, hide and let your Arbiters do everything.

Upon completion of the first two…

You have proven yourself worthy to be called a Sangheili warrior and a traitor of humanity! >:D

Upon completion of the third, you have redeemed yourself and have truly defeated the Covenant (instead of that lame battle where you have endless Flood and can noob combo everyone from a distance).

Halo Wars->Halo: Reach->Halo 2(until the tank level)->Halo 3: ODST->Finish Halo 2->Halo 3

6 days before->5 days->4 days->3 days->2 days->1 day

> Halo Wars->Halo: Reach->Halo 2(until the tank level)->Halo 3: ODST->Finish Halo 2->Halo 3

If you’re able to find the time to go through all 6 games just a week before release, kudos.

> Flawless Legend- Do Not die for the entirety of all the games.

Thats just madness man…
someone do it. On legendary. With all skulls. That deserves a plaque… or at least a statue.

I think Halo 2 would be an exception, it doesn’t save all the skulls you collect unlike in 3 or Anniversary, or Wars, I didn’t say ODST or Reach because you don’t collect skulls in those games.

DONE!!! i did it months ago lol i played Halo 1,2,3, wars, odst, reach in order of time line and in order of sales lol. Victory is Mine
