The Flood.

I want them back, but really back. Reining destruction to the galaxy in a wide scale. Just like the Forerunner-Flood war.

Anyone else eager for this to happen? A Galaxy scale battle between the Flood and all the rest of the sentient species.

With a finalle of John activating the array again.

I think they’ll be back, I think the goings on in deep space Giraud talks about is them and I think humanity will face the same question the Forerunners did; should they activate Halo to save the galaxy?

I really miss fighting those “floody” -Yoinks!-. Probably they gave us some of the most challenging levels from H:CE to H3

It’d be nice to have them back. As much as I hate fighting them it doesn’t quite feel like Halo without them.

IT will NEVER stop. If not the Flood, he will return in another shape or form until the rat he hunts lays dead.

Their is a good chance because in I think a comic they find the Spirit of fire from Halo Wars and the whole crew I think is missing and a single flood spore sneaks off the ship. Flashback to H3 were the shipmaster says that a single floodspoore can wipe out a whole race = more flood

I certainly hope the flood are back. I also hope they are reskinned completely making them more gory and terrifying. I want h5 to truly earn the M rating.

What if the Truth from #huntthetruth is actually the return of the Flood?

I used to think there was no way the Flood would be back in Halo 5 (thinking Halo 6+), but now I’m not so sure. I think it might be a big surprise they have for us at E3. This description:

> Peace is shattered when colony worlds are unexpectedly attacked. But when humanity’s greatest hero goes missing, a new Spartan is tasked with hunting the Master Chief and solving a mystery that threatens the entire galaxy.

suggests that it could be the Flood attacking colony worlds. Chief and Blue Team are AWOL fighting the Flood and doing things like blowing up that city in the two trailers in order to destroy the infestation (and Chief is channeling is inner Iso-Didact). ONI, in an attempt to cover up the return of the Flood, brands Chief a traitor and dispatches Locke to bring him back into the fold or eliminate him before the “truth” of the Flood’s return becomes widely known. This also jives with Chief saying “[my mission] is just beginning,” if his mission is to destroy the Flood and ensure Humanity’s ascension to the Mantle.

Remember it’s not a question of if the Flood is returning, but when. The Primordial said as much in the Forerunner saga.

That city would have had to be burnt to a crisp if the flood were there. I do think the flood will return, however he would probably notify UNSC/ ONI , and they would not blame him for destroying a city because of the flood. Why would you brand your best soldier a traitor for accomplishing the mission?

That city was attacked by something, not the flood,my guess is the big bird from e3. It could also be a variety of other things, such as insurrectionists or the storm covenant.

> insurrectionists or the storm covenant.

I’m not sure either of those are a “mystery that threatens the entire galaxy” though. Also somewhere in the Escalation comics, ONI/UNSC brass discuss how to cover up the New Phoenix event (the end of Halo 4 when the Didact’s ship attacks Earth), so it stands to reason they would want to keep the Flood a secret and not spread panic throughout the galaxy.

I think even if the Flood does not equal the Truth, something is going to happen in Halo 5, probably towards the end, that suggests their return for the next game.

batman logic. he is the hero they deserve but not the one they need

I don’t want the flood to return, I want to learn more about the Prometheans.

What more is there to learn about the Prometheans?

The Flood have to return at some point. After all, they’re indisputably the biggest enemy to date. They wiped out the Forerunners and it was only stopped by temporarily purging the galaxy of sentient life. Furthermore, it’s revealed in the Forerunner Saga that they’re the corrupted remains of the Precursors, which are Halo’s equivalent of gods. You can’t find an enemy more destructive than that, nor one as inter-grained into the greater lore of the series.

I’m hoping the Flood with have a small role in Halo 5 and the Reclaimer Saga – perhaps only through the release a small scourge. Their role in this story arc should be to foreshadow the eventual return of the Flood as it existed in the Forerunner-Flood war, so that humanity and every species in the galaxy will prepare to unite against it. I don’t see how a threat that huge could be destroyed otherwise.

They are Forerunner Bionicle kill-bots, that is really about it.

I would love this. The flood is needing to return. After all, this is the darkest halo yet…

The Prometheans can be better expanded through the reintroduction of the Flood, the enemy they were created to fight.
