so i thoght that i make a topic about flood in halo 5. so should the flood make return would it seem stupid and pointless since mc destroyed the ark and flood with it or would it bring back memories of first encounters with flood in halo ce and that classic halo kind of ¨horror¨ feeling what people probably got in the library level when defending yourself against waves after waves of flood and something like gravemind from halo 2(original) when it starts to talk.
I don’t really care about the flood that much (nobody really does) so lets keep 'em out of 5. I’m still fine with the flood in it though if 343 decides to put them in.

Speak for yourself. I like the flood and I am sure many people that play halo like them as well. I want the flood with new forms (not those OP pure forms from Halo 3 though). I want them to be more menacing and I want to feel they are the biggest threat in the galaxy.

If you’ve read the books, then a Precursor known as the Primordial says that at the approximate current time in the Halo universe, the Flood will return in force to consume all life, so that all will live in unified suffering. He doesn’t mean the Alpha and Delta Halo outbreaks.So, yeah, they will be back eventually. Probably with new forms, and with all the malice and horrific intelligence of the books.

I hope you get Marines in a flood level, and you kind of have to eyeball them occasionally to see if they’ve been turned. Maybe some of them have shotty and stay close to you in squad formation, and if they turn flood without you noticing they could one shot you. Would be very tense!

“Nobody really does”. No, it’s just you and the rest of the people ignorant of the Halo lore that don’t care for them. For everyone else, they are the main enemy of the universe.
I and I’m sure anyone else who has read the books or knows more about halo than just the game wants the flood in Halo 5, as they have a huge impact on the lore of Halo…hello thats why “we” were destroying other planets to rid of its infestation… so I think the didact is gonna do something with the flood.

Are you talking about the hunter worms?
it wouldn’t make sense since they were wiped out in halo3
I hate the pure forms with a passion, but I like fighting the regular flood forms.
Every flood level is pure awesomeness, and I want them badly in Halo 5
I have never been a fan of the flood to be honest… I’m sure they will return, but i certainly wont be butthurt if they dont.

I love the Flood and I hope the pure forms make it in, although I do agree they are OP. Honestly, I want the Flood to infect NPCs and keep that NPC’s armor design and accompanying capabilities. Infected Elite Spec Ops goes invisible? Infected Elite Ultra and Zealot have a lot of shields. Infected Brute w/ jump pack, infected brute chieftain with gravity hammer!! (as examples)
The Flood (as far as I know) have been kept in happy little jars in just about every Forerunner structure for study in the hopes of finding a better solution than the Halo rings. That’s why they broke out on Alpha Halo, the gas mine on Threshold, and Delta Halo. Master Chief blew up Alpha Halo to stop the infestation. The Arbiter blew up the gas mine. High Charity was infested, but destroyed. The Flood were on the Ark and the new Halo, but those were destroyed.
Delta Halo is still there. The other 5 halos are there. Countless Forerunner structures are still in the galaxy and we know the Flood have an extragalactic stage of life. If they don’t come from within the galaxy, they could come from without. I hope they come back eventually, if not in H5 then certainly later.
I think the flood should be released at the end of halo 5.
The Ark is not destroyed, only minor damaged. Compare the sizes of both super structures. The Halo is the size of a small planet. The Ark is the size of a small solar system. Also, I wouldn’t mind the flood. The flood are extra-galactic, they are not wiped out. There is references to them in many sources. Heck, they may be more formidable and advanced.
