I was after a new possibly more social thread about creating your own interpretation of what and why the Flood are what they are? Expand upon what we already canonically know…
> To be honest, I believe the Flood and Precursor, communicate on a variety of frequencies using Space, Time, Physics and Emotions… in other words, Neural Physics.

> - (Endurance of Time and Space) The Precursors acted as a single force to uphold and seed life… which no matter how obscure transferred to the Flood as an a undying directive to assimilate life. The unfathomable task is not quell, or bound, by the limits of time or space, as they are embodiments of the one, and also the numerous. An entirety of gathered experiences and perceptions.

> - (Mastery of the Physical Dimensional Plane) The Precursors, and Flood, had a greater understanding of the physical dimensional plane, to which they could ascend the limits of physical form to remain ageless and resolute… ever changing to fit a certain purpose until it was fulfilled. They could also possibly exploit frequencies used within communication devices to block, or monitor, potentially tactical advances, which ultimately are countered majority of the time.

> - (Behaviour and Communication) The Flood also has various ways to communicate which is not subject to the laws of the dimension of existence. During the Feral-Stage they adapt and project a neural pheromone based toxin that draw Flood forms into a cadre, to which, each individual form bonds to the next creating small cluster groups with basic paramount objectives… assimilate biomass and create a Gravemind. Yet once a Gravemind is birthed, their behavior changes dramatically; the clustered groups now formulate into one sole body and communicate on a galaxy-wide telepathic level, which is, permissible by means of forms physically vibrating and acting as reconstituting antennae, creating a central web of communication, intellect and behavior… somewhat like a sentient specie’s brain communicating with their nervous system.

> - (Emotion Manipulation) The Flood Gravemind, and possibly Precursor, could manipulate and decipher emotional bonds between sub-ordinate species, even ones as well developed as the Forerunners, Pre-historic Humans and Ancient San’Shyuum. Thus allowing the Flood to manipulate and taunt their foes with a characteristic bond that can force upon an emotion and thus action. It can also be noted that in close-proximity the Flood nueral toxins force emotions upon outlying species, mostly fear and anger… undermining organization and natural behavior.
