Hear me out. So there’s been videos made by some pretty big Halo-related channels (HaloFollower, HiddenXperia, etc.) about how and why the Flood will return in Halo 6. And I understand why they’re hyped for it, I love the Flood and I DESPERATELY want them to return at some point in the future. But Halo 6 just isn’t the right time and place for it.
From a lore standpoint, it would just make the series more convoluted with yet ANOTHER faction and storyline thrown into the mix. Assuming all factions in Halo 5 return, we’ll have Blue Team, Fireteam Osiris, the Created, the Prometheans, the UNSC, the Banished, maybe some of Jul’s (Or Sali 'Nyon’s) Covenant, and if the game is on a Halo, then presumably sentinels and other Forerunner constructs. There’s already too much going on and too many factions for the Flood to be integrated without confusing things even more.
And I just don’t trust 343 with the Flood, and I think introducing another enemy shouldn’t be a priority for them. I think they should take what they’ve got and focus on trying to save that from the “The Room” of Halo games, Halo 5. They need to focus on making a complete, working game that the fans will enjoy. And with their track record when it comes to ruining things Halo fans love, I don’t think they’ll handle the Flood correctly. Especially if they go for that T rating again. I want the Flood to be these disgusting horrifying monstrosities, and I don’t think 343 will do them justice.
That’s a good point, there is a lot going on right now. Maybe they’ll wait until it gets a little calmer to -Yoink- us in the -Yoink- with Flood.

They are, if the Banished make an appearance like I’m predicting they will. But I don’t have so much of a problem with that if they serve as a replacement to the Covenant.

Basically a splinter group of the Covenant who fought against them at the same time they were fighting humanity. It’s comprised of all Covenant species, even some elites, but is led by the Brutes. They’re the main enemy in Halo Wars 2, and I’d be willing to bet they’ll make an appearance in Halo 6 since Halo isn’t Halo without the Covenant, and they’re pretty much the only ones left.

You’re right theres too much going on. BUT I want to see them baddies in HD!! Plus the flood’s “attack attack, is he dead? attack some more!” mentality always ramps up the combat. We’ve been fighting the same enemies for 15yrs, And 343 dumbed down the AI so all of em are bullet sponges in h5. Lets get some variety back.
PLUS think of the sweet music that the flood brings too.
I want to see how Knights cut through rotten bodies,how crawler wipp out infection forms and soldiers dealing with carriers.
