> You won’t be fighting Flood in Halo 4.
this greatly saddens me,I for one always enjoyed the flood and never saw how anyone could be annoyed by them, I can understand the lack of inclusion but it greatly saddens me to see them missing in yet another installment of halo. the flood as an enemy never really saw their real potential game play wise, or graphically. there has not been one HD version of the flood that lives up (in halo 3 they are just brown… lots of detail there) In halo 3 for combat they still were just grouped as run at player, when they are so much more than that, anyone play halo wars? THAT WAS THE FLOOD WE REMEMBER AND LOVE, especially the flood in cutscens. I want just one, please just one firefight map with the flood looking that good, the flood never got their swan song from bungie, and it looks like 343i wont be sending them out with a bang either
I just want once in the 360 gen for the flood to be done right, even if it is just for one small 5 minute section it needs to be done
Wait till next Gen. Halo 5/6 are bound to bring back the flood bigger and badder with new tech :P.
Primordium says: The flood will come back in 100.000 years to bring humanity unity. the outbreaks in the original trilogy were isolated events and don’t feel like that doomsday-event the Prisoner promised.
now, in primordium it actually says “in 1 million years”, so i wrote to Greg Bear about it, asking if this was a typo because the upcoming H4 takes place 100000 years after the events in his book. mr bears reply was (something along these lines): "good catch! of course it is a typo - or maybe the flood will be back for Halo 1000?)
too me this sounds like proof that the flood remains a part of halo in the reclaimer trilogy. frankie said we won’t be fighting (!) the flood in H4. it still might return at the end of the game, for the promised invasion, setting the darker tone for H5. i smell cliffhanger.
I too am a little saddened by their absence. The flood have so much unused potential as enemies and I do hope they make a return. That said, I do understand. The game is going to have a whole new group of enemies and they deserve to be the focus. We already have this mystery group and the Covenant, adding a third group wouldn’t give enough focus on the new enemy.
.
Send them out with a Boooooooooooom.
The flood already had 3 games half devoted to them.
The FLood will come back
If the Forunner and a few billion+ Sentinels couldn’t stop them over 300+ years, then I dont think a nice booom booom will. Gravemind will come back, the flood will…get you all wet! WOOOOOOOOOOAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Rail Gun + Flood = hellz 2 teh yeah!! >:D
They did send The Flood out with a bang. It’s called Halo 3. At least I hope that is the case. The Flood got annoying real quick. I always proffered fighting the Covenant over The Flood.
I’m glad for this break we’ve got from the Flood in recent games and I can’t see them being very integral to Halo 4’s plot. I, like raindoc, smell the strong scent of a Flood-related cliffhanger. If I’m totally honest, The Flood had become a tad monotonous. You just ended up knowing there’d be an outbreak and they’d nearly bugger up your stuff. Imagine if The Flood returned but not as a comparatively small outbreak, but as a full-scale force hell-bent on domination (Or something like that).
But there’s a totally new enemy for Halo 4 and it wouldn’t make sense for The Flood to be another major enemy, in my book. Bring them back on the 720. Make us recoil in terror at the in-depth contortions of the face of the infected; immensely pained and now nothing more than a host for the parasite that’s bent on claiming you. Make us understand the true potential of The Flood; not just a bloody pain in the -Yoink-, but a vast, unstoppable force. Let The Flood become great again. Scary, visceral, deadly. Everything an all-consuming parasite should be.
The flood have always been terribly boring to fight, Cortana was the worst mission in Halo history. I’m glad they’re no longer going to be around.
Don’t worry they will be back. They always come back.
