Full Circle Issue #30: Echoes In The Wells Of Silence - The Flood Nightmare; Reborn Into Modern Society
Hello Halo-Nation! Synth here, once again with The Archive pattered lore extravaganza that is Full Circle! This issue, goes into great detail as to the nature of The Flood, its origins in modern science fiction, and how we can view the parasite through the lens of our own society. I’ve actually written about this topic before, but I felt it was a good time to, once again, look at The Flood in a positive academic light.
So shall we all sit back, and render ourselves unto the beast?
The only reason why I clicked it was that your name stand there .
And this name stands for quality.
Im nit dissapointed, the minutes I spent reading the article have been well spent.
> This is why The Flood are so horrific, they take everything from you. Your history, your culture and your essence.
100%!!
I was never disturbed by the flood’s voracity or their physical violence, or even their scale.
What has disturbed me and caused me to think a LOT about them, is the way they destroy you.
Not just physically, but mentally, culturally.
That terminal was one of the most eye opening things I’ve witnessed in regards to the Flood. Having your will broken, feeling your mind and individuality bent and torn from you. That is the most horrible fate. horrible beyond any physical injury.
And they do this through manipulation, as well. Either honey or vinegar, taunts or seduction. It makes them much more relatable as you can see yourself in them, as you should, and that only compounds the terror they inflict.
Great article!

You are much too kind.
I’m a huge lore fan and have just now after reading this post and subsequently the linked article realized I’ve never been to your site. It looks great and just briefly browsing, several things have caught my eye. I’ll be bookmarking it for sure and visiting it often.
Great flood article and comparisons to other literature.
“Keyes, Jacob. Captain. Service number 01928-19912-JK! You will not! Have! Me!”
"…we already do."
R.I.P Captain Keyes, you were one hell of a soldier.

"I don’t…I can’t remember, what was it I was supposed to remember?
*"*This was honestly the most heart breaking media in all of Halo.
