Frank O’ Connor mentions that the fans will be really surprised by the events of this trilogy. What if the surprise is that the cliffhanger at the end of Halo 4 is the Chief finding out that Earth has been decimated by the flood, and nearly the entire planet has been infected?
We never knew what happened when the Gravemind went to the Ark; who knows if Gravemind left some spores behind to later infect Earth.

Or maybe he just didn’t like the art style?
he IS the creative director

Art style? He was a creative direction from a japanese gaming background working on a western FPS. As the interviews well enough implied, the guy just wasn’t satisfied with his job and left to do something that better fit his own interests.
Crackpot theories about mad plot twists be not needed.

The last thing we need is Sgt. Johnson living on through an arm put on James-005.

I heard the guy that left, left because 343i didn’t accept the direction HE was taking Halo 4. They felt that it wasn’t “halo-ish” and he was let go.
> Installation 05 still contains the Flood (I think).
Nope, the Covenant Separatist sterilised (probably glassed) Installation 05. To stop the Flood. But there’s still more Halo’s and Forerunner worlds that probably contain the Flood.
Edited out the creative director theory. Who knows, though. The Flood might still play some sort of role, which I personally wouldn’t mind, if we get introduced to an entirely different branch, perhaps introduced through a completely different Halo or something.
> I hope the flood are in it coz then u could do flood firefight or sometin mad like that
I’ve actually always wanted a Flood survival firefight mode where there’s unlimited time and unlimited lives, so long as people can respawn on a spartan, or so long as a player survives the round.

Halo 4 happens in 2556, but Halo Encyclopedia has people talking 20 years after 2553. what year does that make? 2573. Earth couldn’t be infected by Flood at the end of Halo 4 and assuming Master Chief heads back to Earth to save it, you can’t have it happen. 2573 and still haven’t found MC, though he came back to Earth in 2556. say what?
and Earth being infected by the Flood as most shocking in the series? highly unlikely. i can’t see that as being the most shocking.

> Also, Halo 4 is not set in 2556, its more than that. Look at Origins and Frankie’s comments. It suggests that it may be post 2558s.
that’s still not even close to 2573. and i put 2556 because ppl said Origins timeline makes it 2556.
and i havent been able to read Glasslands yet. REALLY exicted too though. Christmas though man

Then there’s nothing to fight for.
And that was a plot point in Halo 3, they aren’t going to use it again.
