The Flood in ODST Firefight

Here’s my attempt at convincing you why it’s not going to happen.

Halo MCC has already reached memory limits with ELEVEN engines running in the code tree. Not to mention that some of these engines are notoriously unstable. Adding anything substantial is not technically feasible at this point.

Aside from the technical hurdles, your argument that Halo 5 needs to be added because “It’s the only one missing” doesn’t make sense. By that logic, any subsequent release, including Halo Infinite, would have to be added to the MCC. We were already lucky that Reach and ODST were able to be added. You got to draw a line at some point.

I respect the counterpoint. But a guy can dream can’t he?

just in case no one can work it out.

halo reach =1 blam engine
halo = 2 blam engine
halo anniversary = 3 / 4 blam engine / saber3d engine
halo 2 = 5 blam engine
halo 2 anniversary = 6 / 7 blam engine / halo 4 engine
halo 3 = 8 blam engine
halo 3 odst = 9 blam engine
halo 4 / spartan ops = 10 / 11 blam engine / blam engine

12 if you count the mcc unreal engine for the user interface.

if halo 5 gets ported, it’ll be standalone and all they need to do is expand on the h5 forge port.

Adding in a game that’s sole purpose is loot box gambling does not belong in MCC so yeh Halo 5 can sod off from being anywhere near MCC. If people want it that badly then 343i should update the Halo 5 forge build on the Windows store to be like the full game instead of trying to tape together a game on a collection that is barely holding together as it is with the amount of engines attached already.

I mean 343 already confirmed it’s not happening but whatever helps you sleep at night.

That would be way too much of an effort to do so, remember that all games are packed together. But the game also has an emphasis on those stupid req packs, I’m pretty sure people would scream if they have a microtransactions. I’m for a H5 PC release, but have it be a standalone purchase like it is on Xbox.

The key takeaway here is that 343i should focus on adding flood firefight to ODST, as well as port the remaining exclusive Halo: Online maps over. The H5: Forge comment is just a personal wishlist item, and I will continue to advocate for it despite the absolutely inane amount of pushback on the forums to this idea.

The sooner they release the flood firefight addition and the remaining mod tools, the sooner they can get to work on finishing the halo 5 pc port, and the sooner they get that done, they can then port halo wars 2 to steam.

Then they will have max available devs for halo infinite.

Their priorities are all over the place, no wonder infinite is such a mess.

Still patiently waiting for Flood to be part of Firefight.

It hasn’t been the same since we got the delay, I’ve been waiting so hard for season 8 to come out with the mode, but Infinite has all the attention…

When will we ask, and when will they answer back to us?

Hey, look at that, first post! Welcome to the forums buddy!

Yes, we all have high hopes for Season 9. Really hoping they are taking a few hints from the community here on Waypoint.
