The Flood in ODST Firefight

Anybody know when this is going to be release proper? They teased it in the last flight, but it’s been months now. Really hoping now that the madness of Infinite launch is over MCC will continue to receiving love even if seasons are at an end for now. Has anyone heard any news in this regard?

Nobody knows. I’ve heard people speculating maybe next week since the exchange is missing next weeks items so not sure.

I was about to ask the same question, OP. Here’s hoping it’s soon.

It was so nice when MCC was getting the love that it was. I hope they shift back into support for this game. Because the service they were providing was absolutely incredible.

They must be nearing a release, it’s been ages since the last proper game update. all we’ve had since are tiny hotfixes, not complaing about those, just the long delay for the next big content drop.

I would be so appreciative if they could finalize the flood firefight game type for ODST, as well as port in the last Halo Online exclusive map, Reactor, for H3.

I hope they also get the Elites and missing covenant enemies into ODST firefight too, as well as the other Halo Online exclusive map Skybridge.

well they said recently the mod tools are in testing right now but didn’t say anything about firefight…

Honestly, adding in the additional Halo Online maps is huge for me. As well as potentially putting H5: Forge underneath the MCC umbrella.

Aye, the H:O maps are one of the most important things they should add.

That said, Halo 5 Forge should just be updated to the full Halo 5, and sold separately on steam with crossplay. Makes the most sense both on a technical and financial reason

My feeling is that eventually these wish list items will be rolled out but we may have to wait awhile before we see H5 resurrected on PC. When that does happen, I’d like to see it incorporated in the MCC framework as opposed to standalone. But completely agreed that the #1 priority for new content in this game should be the remaining H:O maps. It’s really a no brainer. In the meantime adding the flood back into Firefight seems like an easy bone to throw at us considering they’ve already implemented it in the beta then took it away.

pretty sure a h5 port will not be in the mcc, reasons have been discussed to death. so no point going over them again.

Agree with everything except crossplay, Infinite should be a clear reason as to why Halo shouldn’t have crossplay.

I honestly don’t mind crossplay. I think it’s effect is overemphasized.

It 100% is not overemphasized. If anything it’s downplayed. Hackers and cheaters run rampant in pretty much every crossplay game, ruining the experience for pretty much anyone who plays on non-PC. Crossplay is a tired gimmick. I’m all for console crossplay say, if Gamepass came to Switch, that you’d have crossplay between Switch and Xbox, but PC should NEVER be a part of crossplay, it’s too easily abused.

A majority of my Halo group left the console ecosystem a long time ago. When MCC announced cross play it was a god send. Ive seen very obvious hacking and have been suspect of more subtle instances. At the end of the day, I’m still having a decent amount of fun in matchmaking and firmly believe cross play is the future. Anti cheat can always be better, but I wouldn’t sacrifice an entire group out of fear of what might happen in my next match.

WHY do people keep saying this as if it makes sense.
They aren’t going to shoehorn another 97gb game into MCC. If they bother with 5, it will be stand alone. It would be a crapton more work to try to put it into MCC.

Also, 5 is trash, and shouldn’t be played by anyone for any reason.

Don’t quite understand why there is a very vocal contingent of Waypointers who seem to be most passionate about the idea of never integrating H5 into MCC. It seems like everyone would benefit from this. Personally I think it’s basically inevitable that it’ll happen eventually. I mean it’s the only remaining Halo game not wrapped into the collection. They won’t just leave it in limbo forever.

I’m going to try explain it. Please pass it on to anyone else that has this horrible idea.

Since the last generation of consoles, the line between console and PC games has blurred. MCC was necessary because they were 360 games, while Halo 5 actually runs on PC as it is (forge/customs on Windows store). Why would they waste time and money on trying to put 5 into MCC when they could just expand the existing port?

The MCC is creeping up on a 200GB install size as it is. Adding Halo 5 would get it close to 300GB.

Then there’s version parity, MCC on PC and console are basically the same game, and 5 is a separate game on Xbox. What are they going to do? Get rid of the working Halo 5 on console in favor of putting it in MCC, or are they going to break crossplay to hell, trying to get MCC 5 to work with original 5. There is literally no good way to combine the games.

Internalize these facts, and you will be slightly smarter than you were before you read this post. People aren’t “passionate”, it’s a stupid-yoinking- idea.

The absolutism with which this point is wielded like a club is still not enough to convince me that it’s not a good idea. It’s kind of a tired and sorry argument. Not even close to the debate-closer you guys seem to think it is for whatever reason.
