Given where Halo Infinite is taking place and the lore behind the place, do you think it is likely the Flood will return? If so, what new Flood ideas would you like to see and which do you think will return from older games if this turns out to be the case?
for those that know Juggernaut would be something nice to see.
I hope the flood are in the game someway
I hope so.
The maps have wild animals on like chickens and stuff. Would be cool for the flood to infect the wildlife and make them hostile. Chickens would be hilarious and terrifying in larger quantities. Can think of some animals which would be terrifying.

Hopefully they don’t just use the Banish from Halo wars 2 and use the flood assets too.
They’ll appear but in DLC I reckon, I think they’ll keep the main story all about the Banished initially.
If they arrive, I want it to have levels of impact similar to 343 Guilty Spark.

I didn’t know how much I needed Flood Chickens.

I’m thinking the same thing, if they include them at all.

Flood chickens would be hilarious lol.
The only way I can se the flood returning is if we have the option to go to numerous flood containment facilities that are guarded by either the banished or just isolated from everything.
That or we will be getting a DLC dedicated to the flood while the regular campaign itself does not involve the flood
This is more focused on Chief vs Banished, and having a flood outbreak in the main campaign feels kind of odd to me since its kind of deviating away from the main purpose of the campaign which is to yet again save humanity from a great threat that is the banished.
Not to mention if a flood outbreak occurred, you would canonically have to stop EVERYTHING you’re doing to contain this outbreak before it turns into a deadly life threatening situation.
Then again we may also meet a monitor of Zeta Halo and maybe something will happen there idk.
Im almost certain we wont be getting anything flood related in the beginning and will for sure be receiving a flood dedicated DLC in the future.
Atleast I hope it’ll be a DLC or something, this game supposedly is gonna have a shelf life of 10 years, so at this point they have to add dlcs, that or they will simply make a major update which will give us this content.
Seeing them as a faction to fight against in multiplayer similar to what halo 5 had in warzone would be sick
If they are I look forward to uising the shock rifle on them. Be interesting how electric based weapons effect them. Both the disruptor and Shock rifle are both electric based but what annoys me is that they are both banished devices when it would be well with in the technology of the unsc to produce such weapons. Its time we got another energy based weapon besides the spartan laser and electric based gun would have been awesome but instead they give it to the banished. But hey at least we get electric weapon in halo infinite
I hope so.
I would say it’s very likely, there’s an Audio file for Forerunner sounds and I swear I heard the flood in the background.

Do you think there will be an in game encounter like a side mission which the flood appears, if they don’t appear in the main story line?

I think they will play a part into the storyline. Maybe the Banished will do the Vorridus Experience if they get too curious in Forerunner facilities. But Zeta Halo to my understanding was meant for Flood Study and Testing on Ancient Humans by the Master Builder.
I am still hoping that the Flood will come back in the upcoming Halo Infinite.
Wait until the game rating is released. If it has a Teen rating there’s zero chance of the flood being in the game. Now if it has a Mature rating, then you have a chance.

Seconding this. If you all haven’t read about the history of Zeta Halo (Installation 07), check that out before anything else. Forerunners experimented on both ancient humans and flood on this very ring, but we don’t know for sure that any of the research facilities remain or exactly what happened to them when the ring was reduced in size and sent into space as a (supposedly) dead memorial. Now enter the Banished in their expansion of control and we have a very similar situation to Hale CE. Kinda get a sneaky suspicion at least a good chunk of the first plot will mimic the original story line.
i.e. We think the Banished are the main enemy (they’re already the enemy in Halo Wars and already have fought the flood on the Ark) but I see them as a feint to reintroduce the Flood as the galactic big bad, which will be released by the Banished just like the Covvies in CE. Then with that out the way we can focus on a wonderfully complex triumverate of the UNSC vs Cortana and her Created (this is the Halo 5 campaign) vs the Flood. It’s just a supposition, but if you also consider the Reclaimer stuff and how Chief/Cortana are getting closer to mimicking ancient Forerunner/Ancilla (their name for A.I. like Cortana, and remember Chief’s genes were changed by the Librarian), I think we’ll see us resolving the Cortana and Created issue first and then moving onto the Flood. OH MAN, and if you also consider how the Flood originated from corrupted Precursor “dust” and that in 2558 a ship with Precursor specimens was launched recently…
There’s just no way the Flood aren’t back within the next 10 years of story. WHEN and HOW are really the questions.
Besides new types of Flood (which could really be anything considering the experimentation that went on in the Palace of Pain), I want to see the landscape taken over by Flood. Mutated plantlife. Maybe more cognition and strategy along with hopefully a strong Gravemind.
Oh I’m so excited.

The palace of pain the accent humans called it, hopefully we see how bad it really was through in game cutscenes, areas or terminals. Hopefully voridus and pavium return they were brilliant In Halo wars 2.
It’s inevitable, but they’ll likely return in an Expansion post-launch.
