In CTF matchmaking, it looks like the flagnum is officially gone. It might still be available to use in customs, but there seems to be no sign of it in standard multiplayer. Are you going to miss it?
Personally, I’m not. Flag juggling all the way!

Not particularly, no. It wasnt that good a weapon imo.
Besides we’ve seen in the trailers that people can actually sprint with the flag now, finally. If im going to forgo a weapon I should at least be able to carry a flag faster. Not that I play much CTF anyway.
No
I’d assume we can swing and melee with the 2hand flag similar to the 2h hammer.

Nope, I am glad its gone. You are supposed to be vulnerable, as the flag itself is already a one hit kill weapon, but its supposed to encourage teamwork, why would a team care to protect you if you have a magnum?
Nope. I won’t miss it. Not one little bit!
I didnt really play any Capture the Flag in the older games, but even so I still prefer the old holding the flag with both hands, and of course the one hit kill flag whack/thrust!
Random story: once in Halo CE I went into Blood Gulch CTF by myself and just went to pick up the flag and look at it, and I remember just thinking about how cool it looked being held upright in the Spartan’s hand (or Cyborg’s, I should say!).
You know, I actually never thought about it before, but now I that I have, Halo CE definitely has my favourite first person player view model!
Ps. I don’t remember if any of the older games (specifically 3, Reach and 4) had this already, but a neat thing I noticed about the flag in Infinite is that the bottom end is actually sharp and looks just like the end of a spear, no doubt to empower the returning good old flag thrust attack!
It will probably live on under the Custom Game settings.
I don’t mind the flagnum being taken out of the game as long as the unique flag assassinations haven’t. Those were cool.
Nope, Glad they got rid of it
Nope. I’m happy it’s gone.
I’m fine with its removal, I’m also glad to see that the advanced movement has been turned down a few pegs, didn’t mind it being there but it was annoying how the whole sandbox had to conform around the Sonic speed level of Spartan shenanigans from 5.
I’ve never been overly fond of the flagnum, so I’m quite happy with it’s removal.
No, it was never a good idea in my opinion.
I liked that it gave you some form of defense, but I get the point that you’re supposed to be vulnerable with the flag. I think I’d prefer 2h flag.
I always disliked it so I’m glad it’s gone.
I mean you still had to juggle in H5 unless you were up against a potato team. I think this is a good change though. Makes it even more teamwork based not being able to fight while holding flag.

agreed, the flag kills were so unique, i loved them!
NAh not even a little bit haha
It wasn’t used to often. Halo 4 Magnum was some trash, but then you could juggle in halo 5, just not used enough to be like oh yeah that was some -Yoink-
Nope. Never liked it. Glad we’re going back to normal with the old two-handed method. Was a lot more tense in the older games because you were so vulnerable carrying the flag. Needed teamwork (except in Combat Evolved) to get out safely with it.
