I was watching some MP footage the other day and a brilliant and crazy idea struck me: Weaponize the Objectives.

I know right now that some of you are saying “Wut” and wondering what’s going on. So I’ll explain. Take a gun, and instead of shooting bullets or explosives, it shoots flags. Like the flag you have to capture in CTF. Then we can have the Skull Launcher and the Bomb Rifle.

In all seriousness: Let us throw the Objectives a short distance by holding down the RTrigger button and releasing it. Should an enemy be in the path of the thrown objective it will count as a OSK.

It doesn’t make any sense that we can’t throw the flag at our enemy like it was a spear, or chuck the Bomb or Oddball like it was a huge baseball.

Sounds fun but…Would make scoring soooo much easier if you could just throw it around instead of the reduced movement speed.

they should make a game-type called “foodfight” where you throw all of these object at each other

The idea is that it also allows for tactical throws too.

On Asylum, coming from the rocks into the base with the Objective you can throw it up to a waiting teamate for them to plant.

Nope. Would make the objective runners too powerful if they could launch it at any range, and make passing overpowered as well. You’re supposed to be a bit more vulnerable (slower, no guns) and more reliant on the rest of your team to complete your task. You can melee with the objective if necessary, or drop it if you want to use guns.

It’s not any range, just a short range.

Sounds… interesting. But only if implemented in a specialized gametype and not in actual CTF/Oddball/etc…

This would break objective game types in so many ways. Oddball would become keep away. Flag would become football, and I have no reference for assault, but I think you get the point. The weapons are a one hit kill, you can throw them a distance if you want, but the objective game types are just fine the way they are.

Yeah i am, it may be a bad idea, but not stupid. He gave his opinion, i gave mine. I didnt tell him to leave the forums. Sorry was i getting to real for you?
