“Spartan Locke, I’ve spent enough time with ONI to know the truth. After all this is over, after all we have done, they will order you to kill us both”. We hear her say these words at the very beginning of the campaign, but they situation under which she says them is never addressed. They did something similar in Halo 4, when she’s being detained and questioned, but through Spartan Ops her situation and status is addressed. Do you think this line was at the beginning because the story was originally meant to be longer, and larger in scope, before it was cut down and 343 just forgot to replace that line? Or do you think this is a line she’ll be saying in Halo 6, near the third act or even the end, after Cortana has been dealt with (eliminated, or converted to good guy)?..My favorite would be for this to be addressed in some surprise single player DLC, even if it’s spartan ops 2.0, but I think it would take a christmas miracle for that to happen.
I feel like it will ultimately be ignored, but most of Halo 5’s story felt like it was building towards Halo 6, so maybe we’ll get lucky and it will be revisited there. Doubt it, but never say never…
A lot hasn’t been addressed that they built up going into Halo 5. It really needs a lot more explanation on these things we’ve been told. Kinda like how Halo Escalation was completely useless and didn’t matter in the end. I really want them to address that at some point. Halo 6 has a lot of plot holes to fill and continue plot lines that were dropped. If only they were allowed to have more time.
