The first Halo game i'm not addicted to :(

I first got into the Halo series at the end of Halo 3 but i really got hooked in with Halo: Reach.
Naturally i pre-ordered Halo 4 and loved it and i thought the same with Halo 5.
The Beta for Halo 5 was awesome but when i got the full game i realized that the experience was not as immersive as the other games or even the Beta!
I now finally realize why.
The REQ system.
In the previous games you had an objective or goal to get a certain rank or commendation to unlock that one piece of armour (Even the Halo 5 Beta). For example in Halo 4 i really liked the look of the Venator torso and remember aiming for those 150 or however many assassinations in multiplayer to earn it. Hell, even completing the campaign on legendary gave you special armour in Halo 4 but there is none of that in Halo 5 (i know you get armour for doing stuff in MCC but still) and personally gamerscore in not a big enough incentive.

The other thing is with the limit of Helmet, Armour and Visor Customisation to my spartan is a major step back in my view.

What do you guys think?

i understand that the REQs pay for the free DLC but its still a disappointment. (I would still rather spend an extra £30 - £40 on Map packs / Season Pass)
I still love the franchise and i just got to rank 50 but i can quite happily play other games with my friends unlike the old days where i would carry on until my personal objective was complete.

So you play games for the customization?
Dude…req system is pretty bad yeah but that doesn’t really affect the gameplay. A game is mainly made of its GAMEPlay. you know. Hell we can agree to disagree being civilized

You have a good point.

I forgot to mention that the Game itself is fantastic. I LOVE the gameplay its sooo smooth (still wish it had splitscreen but i understand the technical limitations they had with the Xbox One holding 60fps not being possible with splitscreen and how the engine is built off of 60fps so i’m over that)

my point is is that i feel i have no goal to reach those higher ranks as i did in the other games.

I don’t believe you understand addiction or the relative feeling you’re trying to convey.

If you dislike H5, than you are indeed addicted to it because of how much game-time you have in relative to the other Halos.
If you really like H3’s gameplay but paced yourself to play, you weren’t addicted to it.

If you had an urge to reach the higher ranks of past online Halos… It doesn’t quite show with the small amount of gameplay time relative to those that are more “addicted/fanatical.”
