So I was grinding my way up to Platinum in SWAT and I had two more wins to go and then they reset the ranks. Fine, I knew it was coming and should’ve grinded sooner. But in Gold, I could slowly start seeing myself improve and I worked my way from an overall .75 K/D in the first month of Arena, to a 1.0 even. And it took a while, but I was proud of it. Then they reset the season and I have to re-rank, so naturally I’m going up against players outside of my rank and I go negative almost every game, which is frustrating, but I got placed in Platinum, which I felt was the next step for me, so I was happy knowing that I’ll be in the correct bracket. Until I continued playing. Because so few people have been ranked so far this season, I’m still consistently getting matched with groups of almost entirely unranked players, so I’m still going up against a ton of players who are way better than me. Now, I want to get better and I know playing better players helps with that. But there’s a difference between playing someone who is better and keeps me on my toes for the entire match, and someone who just completely annihilates my entire team the entire match. And I know this will be a problem for a few days until more people are ranked. Which is sad because normally I love playing this game, but this is so frustrating right now. OKAY, and the sad-ish rant is over! Looking forward to the rest of the season ahead! Cheers!
Eh, I just keep in mind that the first rank will give me a new emblem and don’t care after.
I agree, I feel like they should at the least have criteria for players in matches- for instance, onyx players get matched with other onyx players and so on and so forth.
I guess you just gotta roll with the punches and make your way back up each season…
