The file browser sucks

I hate this Clip it. Share it. challenge.

> WHAT! Why?

Well my File Browser has over 4000 files. With loading times, it takes an hour, the full 60 minutes, to get to any single file. To do this challenge I have to sit there and watch it say “Busy…” for an hour and that’s just annoying.
I know why it takes an hour too. I figured out that to get to any file from the file browser, every file has to be loaded. Why? Can’t we just select our categories then have just those files load?

Here’s an example of what I mean:
I select
Films and Clips>
Multiplayer>
Breakpoint>
Then right here instead of loading everything, it just loads Multiplayer clips from Breakpoint. That makes more sense if you ask me.

Yea, it does suck a bit, but at least it’s better than Halo 3’s measly limit. Even if they did what you suggested it still takes a while. My map variants attest to that.

You bring up a very good point. I don’t suffer from this as much as you do, however I could see why this would suck. I wouldn’t say the file browser sucks, I’d say the way it goes about it’s business could use some refining.

I suppose that is more accurate.

The File Browser is a nice addition to Halo, but functionaly it fails if you’re trying to find specific files.

It needs work IMO.

Having over 4000 files is probably another reason why you don’t like it. Why hold on to so much?

I have a huge load of Files as well but here’s a question, do you rename them? I always rename the Title of them so’s it’s easier to find the one’s I want with a specific single/double word description. Otherwise, I try to remember the dates in which the certain map/gametype that was used.

I have a whole mess of files for so many reasons. I hold on to so much because it’s such a pain to get to them to start sorting through and deleting.

Would a usb drive work in moving those files to your computer?

> Would a usb drive work in moving those files to your computer?

no bc the computer wont recognize the files unless you have a modding program downloaded, but a usb is an option…

just put the an empty usb into the xbox, format it, and save a file to that if you want the challenge…
