Halo 5 Early Vs Final UI - YouTube - credit to grunty43 for making the video
as it’s obvious from the video, halo 5’s early UI state is like 50x better than what halo 5’s UI is now. idk what happened but I sure know to hell…it’s some massive downgrade heartbreat.
Aside from the higher resolution graphics and sleek look, it actually doesn’t look like it would’ve been very good to interact with. We would’ve had to do lots of side scrolling with multiple pages of stuff. If you look at the service record part, it had 8 pages. The helmet area only had two rows which would’ve been even more of a nightmare than it already is trying to scroll through all of them. I’m assuming more would’ve been added later on, but with that zoomed in look it would still be a pain to go through.
Just give us those graphics with a UI similar to Reach and call it a day.
The screens marked as Early Development aren’t from like Alpha or Beta builds, these are from concept artwork released on Artstation. Basically just mock-ups of how things could potentially have looked, but not something that was ever actually built. The Beta UI is the only actual early dev work you can really compare with.
Resource and performance wise, a lot of the concepts just wouldn’t have worked out very well I don’t think

The reach system would have made more sense. I feel like if they would have just optimized the aesthetics selections by piece/type and then by style/attachments it could have worked better. I really don’t like scrolling through hundreds of helmets to find the one variant of a helmet.
