Halo 5 has huge potential with custom games and forge, and so many people have made incredible maps. I’m sure we’ve all seen flapjack frenzy! However, there is a fatal flaw with custom games that prevents a lot of maps from being played the way they were meant to be.
Player stats/traits are the same for EVERYONE! There are no leader traits in Halo 5, or any way to make one spartan/team different from another! This severely limits and game types/maps that require one or more players to be stronger or weaker than another. One example is Slenderman, where one player is supposed to be the invulnverable Slender Man that hunts the other players as they run and hide.
But if the Slender Man is invulnerable, then so is everyone else. So players have to use honor rules for this to work. This fatal flaw prevents a lot of maps and game types from being played properly and I hope 343 sees this because it is such a small, manageable addition that would add SO MUCH to Halo 5’s Custom games, and Forge.
I go into more detail in this video: - YouTube
Did you see the infection trailer?
Customs will be fine.
If infection can be correctly customized, then this should solve your issue. I will agree, however, that there are a handful of key elements to custom games that are missing from customization options.
I agree with you, there are limits on what we can do right now with customs.
We found a way around that past honor rules. You make the base game type capture the flag an who ever is the monster/killer spawns by a flag picks it up an you adjusted the flag carrier traits that way only they are stronger and faster

Takes me back to the Halo 2 days where all the customs ran off of honor rules for example zombies if a bunch of 12-14 year Olds back in the day where able to follow then I’m sure they can do it now.

Ehh that still doesn’t really solve the problem =/

Yea but that was the 2nd iteration of Halo, so a lot of things weren’t fully formed yet. By this time around, Halo shouldn’t have to rely on Honor Rules in Custom Games
Ball/Flag Carrier Traits are the only separate set of traits that you can set that I know of. One big problem with that is that they aren’t completely independent of each other. For example, if you set Player Traits to Deathless=Yes and have Carrier Traits set Deathless=No then the Carrier is still Deathless. All or most of the Player Traits impact the final Carrier Traits in some way, and previous Halo games did not have this problem. Whoever is in charge of things like this clearly does not play Custom Games regularly.
FYI, this is just one of the many flaws that are in Halo 5 that weren’t in previous Halo games (even MCC for some!).

You make a great point and the example with your team analogy in your video. Plus, I love all your videos, you can say that I’m a bit of a fanboy.
Act man? I loved your video about Halo 5’s UI are bad.
As for custom games I heard the complaints.
Someone bring this issues up to Tom French and the Forge design team.

Thanks! Glad you liked it
Here’s hoping they make some quality changes to Halo 5 and make it the best game they can!
