343 is still using this melody you hear at 0:03 and 2:49
Does this mean that the monks are gone… BUT we still have this melody for the Halo games?
Honestly I hope so… I really like that melody and if they keep anything or respect anything from marty’s work they should keep this as the MAIN Halo theme. Everyone remembers it and will relate to it and come back to Halo if they quit after Halo 3 or During reach.
I jus cant see another song being the Key melody of the new trilogy

Do you think you could find? I REALLY think that that theme will remain if they are still using it for the banner song at the beginning and end of videos like that. not to mention the sparkasts

It was said, yes. But it was also said that they aren’t used exactly like in previous games.
I really hope they keep those lovable monks ^^ I mean there chants are iconic and i would be happy if that was the main menu theme.

yeah that would be awesome and a little awkward since we have never seen chief interact with other Spartans besides the spartan 2s. Also I’m really crossing my fingers for those monks.
The new composer would be, in my opinion, shooting himself in the foot if he didn’t nod towards Marty’s work, at least in Halo 4. He can introduce a theme in halo 4 that is his own and try to make it more prominent as the trilogy goes but he should DEF nod in Marty’s direction for this game at least.

The segments you are referring to where you hear the Halo theme were actually part of the 2011 E3 debut trailer. People asked if that music was part of Halo 4 but Frankie said that it was made by IGN or whatever. I remember seeing that post way back in the day when the debut trailer was first revealed.
Hopefully though, we do get some familiar monk chants in Halo 4. It would be really cool to hear a small snippet of the original theme squeezed in the soundtrack somehow.

No no frankie made the comment about music made by IGN in response to a question about the music used in the concept art trailer. No one ever asked about the chanting melody from the first trilogy being used in halo 4 to my knowledge… thats why i wanted the people confirming Frankie says it will return to post a link XD
