If we slave against enough AI this weekend maybe sunday night we will be allowed to play against people.
6 years and the first test flight doesn’t even have PvP?
Seems like such a bad idea to have all of this hype and a bunch of streamers from warzone, val, etc. coming to play only to fight bots.
Am I wrong? what are your thoughts?
This flight isn’t for PVP. This flight is very specific to testing bots. We’ve never had bots, so it would be smart to gather as much data on bots as possible. You can slay later.
If 343 needs data on bot behavior it’s best if they make it the focus of the first and the smallest flight, no one would want Bot tests as a last or bigger test flight

It is crazy to me how entitled some people are.
Well the main thing they want to test is the bots. I have no issue with it considering that’s the main new thing and it’s hard to make decent bots without just making them completely broken with damage and health or some sort of cheating your location/aim bot. Literally lol.
I think multiplayer had taken the back burner for this halo way more then usual considering they have to get the campaign right, or the main thing halo is known for will be tainted, so that’s my guess why it’s not completed or ironed out with pvp content.
Again I think it’s fine, this is probably also a test for the campaign AI in some sorts.

Is the first flight really the best time to test the bots?

It’s not a beta. It’s a technical preview to test the systems and to make sure everything is working correctly and if it is then they’ll open it up to normal PvP. There’s nothing bad about it. The only bad part is people keep thinking it’s a beta even when told over and over again that it isn’t. If you aren’t interested in helping test the systems and give feed back on what works and what doesn’t then wait for a more fleshed out flight where the main focus is testing server stability for Matchmaking. You’ll get a better idea of the full release and be able to decide if you like it or not.
While I’m tremendously excited to play multiplayer like many others, I think adding bots and making an emphasis on making sure they are performing the way modern bot AI can will end up being a great move for the longevity of the property.
But honestly, I’d bank on seeing us hit whatever metrics they need in time for 4v4 on Sunday… I mean… these are players we’re talkin’ about… and the challenge has been issued.

It’s a beta you participated in to look for bugs and make sure the game is playable for release. One of these features is bots, something that in the history of the Halo franchise has never implemented. If you feel insulted by this I believe you should just OP out of Halo Insider, because this is the purpose of Halo Insider. The only reason you didn’t have to test new game features in the past is because all halo insider betas took place with games that were already made. Lmao
This flight is for testing bots and other systems, not for people to just play the game early. Remember, this is a test. Please provide feedback and thoughts to devs on what you like and dislike, or things you want tweaked and changed
If you’re disappointed you’re being asked to test new features, then maybe the Insider Program is not for you - simple as that.

Keep in mind that, like they mentioned on the stream yesterday, bots tax the servers differently than PvP. As a result it is unsurprising they have a bot focused flight to test their server configurations, network loads, resource allocations and other background settings to make this work as intended. This isn’t early access or beta it is technical testing and community feedback against their set of goals. Stoked we can play but your expectations are not matching what the purpose of this is (see technical test).
