So I’d like to start a story on here but I’m not sure how this works? Can I just do the story or does everyone make it up as it goes along?
I guess I’ll go ahead and start and wait for someone to tell me how to do it?
Chapter 00 Doorstep
October 7, 2552
Vrooooom. The repulsors of the Covenant Phantom rumble over the flat plains of Adjudicate. Everything is completely dark other then the dull purple glow of its engines. The shuttle is flying so low to the ground it is almost touching. Inside the drop ship, twenty armed and armored Sangheli and making their final preparations. The image of a large Elite appears on a hologram stand. “My servants, we do this in remembrance of the Prophets. They were the great leaders that they are not remembered for. The Great Journey can wait for a season, we must serve sweet revenge first. Go my servants, destroy and ravage, in the name of the brothers you lost to those filthy humans who plague our very existence. Go my brothers and kill, the hunt begins.” He turns to one Sangheli. “Captain, this mission is simple. Fail and I shall have the Accursed rip you limb from limb!” The image dissapears and the Captain shudders. “Sir, target three draws near!” The pilot tells the Captain. He nods and turns to the others. “So that we can continue the Prophet’s righteous quest for the Great Journey…” He hits a panel on the wall. The gravity lift opens and all of the Sangheli soldiers spill out onto the ground beneath. Flames of red and purple rise into the night sky and the sound of a million screams drowns out all other sound, almost becoming a silence all in its own. The Captain smiles, “As you said 'Chavam, the hunt begins.”
Well, no one’s telling my I’m doing it wrong so may as well continue?
Chapter 01 Prophet’s Revenge
October 21, 2552
Th UNSC Canon In A Minor appears out of Slipspace, ready for a fight. But there is silence. Ready for action, but there is peace. Ready for anything, but there is nothing. The planet Adjudicate looks like any other human colony, but this one is different. Even after their defeat on Earth, the Covenant is still making its presence known. Being driven towards Zeta Doradus system, some stragglers have held up here. And with the assistance of a radical Sangheli group known as the “Prophet’s Justice” they are causing quite a disturbance. Mass casualties, total destruction, it’s not the first time the Covenant have done this to a colony. But hopefully it may be the last.
Pelican’s stream out of the hangars on the cruiser, headed for an area on the planet where the Covenant are holding most of their troops. Inside one of the Pelican’s, an A.I. is debriefing the marines. “Ok soldiers, the mission is simple. Clear out the city and move on. The war is almost over, we just need one final effort.” “Adjudicate, dead ahead! Five minutes until contact!” The pilot says. The A.I., with his bowl hat, handlebar mustache, and cape, acknowledges. “Intel says there are no more than two hundred and fifty Covenant in the city of Navarre. We’re bringing a force of over five hundred in, not to mention the Elephant bases we already have set up around the west side of the city. But we need to stretch these forces so to be able to take out three equally occupied cities, the last one being the Capitol, January. We need to play smart.” “Four minutes!” “Once you hear the broadcast that they city is cleared, head to the nearest extraction point. I believe that is all I need to inform you men, good luck.” “Thank you Chapel,” a marine with Sergeant bars says. The A.I. nods and flickers out of existence.
An explosion shakes the Pelican. “Enemy Anti-Air rounds, fairly light,” the pilot says, “Three minutes.” Another boom rocks the Pelican to one side and a couple of the men standing lose their balance. The Sergeant steps forward with his COM pad, “Ok, we’ve got some noobs here so I’m going to go through the routine introduction,” he starts pointing to the soldiers on one side of the Pelican. “That’s Mullins, Patricks, Lacross, West, Mimeo, Chaimber, and Doulee. On the other side we have Denver, Griffon, Callister, Barnes, and Macguire. This is Corporal Mathews and I’m Sergeant Sanchez.” “And my name’s Jack!” The pilot throws in jokingly,“Two Minutes!” The Sergeant acts as if he didn’t hear anything, “Here’s our specific orders. You hit the ground running, don’t slow down for anything, and don’t stop unless I tell you to or you’re dead. I’m going to find us some cover so we can take Area 11. Then we are going to clear our the Hanes Manor and set up a relay point. From there we clean up Area 21 and move to the North Gate of the city where we’ll regroup and head for January.” He looks up, “The extraction points are the courtyard of the town hall and the four temporary Elephant bases on the West side of town. Do not head there unless something goes horribly wrong. And whatever you do, don’t head out the East or West gates. That’s where the Covenant have set up their Anti-Air weapons. Someone else will take them out.” “One minute! We can’t land the Pelican’s, too much enemy fire. I’m gonna bring her down about three feet off the ground!” “Affirmative!” Sanchez says, “Ok boys, either I’ll see you on the other side… or I won’t.”
(The story is now told from Mathews’ point of view)
