THE F BOMB BANSHEE

The gametype Invasion is awesome, its crazy chaotic madness. The rush to get to the objective, and steal or protect the core! The entire gametype while unbalanced, works. The only thing that messes up the match is overpowered vehicles. I don’t mind the falcon, warthogs, ghosts, and various mongooses. But what I do mind is the horrible freaking F-bomb Banshee. The Vehicles in Halo Reach not overpowered they work just fine in all gametypes. The only Problem is the banshee. The Banshee is a freaking game-breaker everytime it shows up. In Slayer, in Objective gametypes, and in everything else. It especially ruins Invasion. If a noob gets in it they at best can always pick off at the team. But if someone who can play gets in they will Spawn camp and pick off the core carrier. I bet if the Banshee wasn’t there the game would be a lot more balanced.
What do you think?

Rolling Bomb Doesn’t help either. No one ever uses the blue gun, its just bomb this and bomb that. Either Rolling or bomb should be removed.

It’s not that hard to bring down the Banshee in Invasion or any other playlist unless you’re playing pants on head dumb. The Banshee shouldn’t EVER be a problem on Boneyard and on Spire even if you’re the Elites and a Spartan gets in it there’s Blueberries, Sniper, Rockets, a Falcon, and even Grenade Launchers once in a while.

yeh, but then it only takes 2 sniper shots to bring it down. Also laser, super sticky, green plasma, AL, rockets are all counter measures against it. It is op, but if a team is playing together it should be taken out in no time. Oh and what about the scorpian in boneyard.

I think what would be better is also have a scorpian in spire and a falcon in boneyard, then it will get real nasty! lol

Removing the banshee would make the game less balanced as you would have to remove the falcon too. Invasion is the only gametype left in tack by 343 lets keep it that way.

I understand what youre getting at, i too hate that freaking banshee. The roll-bomb-roll-repeat strategy is horribly annoying. Breaks off lock-ons most of the time too. sometimes its impossible to break out of being spawncamped by the freaking thing because its not like the rest of their team is sitting back doing nothing. Really the banshee bomb needs to be nerfed, it is way too powerful with way too large of an explosive radius. Banshee bomb is supposed to be for vehicle to vehicle combat use and its normal blue plasma cannons are supposed to be for anti-infantry. I think it might be good if spartans can’t use covie vehicles and vice-versa, counter them with your own vehicles

The only time I have a problem with the Banshee is on Spire in Invasion. It’s less difficult for the Spartans to take it as soon as it spawns than the Elites to take it back. The Elites don’t have a truly effective counter to it.

Invasion Heavies, anyone?

As I recall this is exactly why the banshee was banned on virtually every server in halo pc.

Hah! Rockets and plasma launcher being a counter against Banshees? That’s funny, you’re funny.
Banshee on Boneyard isn’t a problem unlike Spire. I’d rather it be replaced with a Revenant.

If you can’t take down a banshee made out of paper your bad, nuff said.

Funny I see this pop up again right as I get on.

I’d rather a rapid firing, super fast light artillery vehicle not kill people in one hit thank you. It’s easy to disable if stolen, and can carry passengers too for double the fun and support.
At least it isn’t the end of the world for Elites if Spartans steal your Revenant compared to your Banshee. I doubt you can spawn camp the cliffs with it.

Yes i know. The Banshee bomb is OP, everyone knows this. However, not everyone can fly very good (i can’t for the life of me) and get shot out of the air very quickly. All it takes is a good sniper, laser, or DMR fire to take it out (don’t bother with rockets as a good pilot flips enough to throw off lock on). It’s not that hard to kill a Banshee and even less of a problem when you control it (though on Spire it’s BS where it’s located at on third tier).

Of course if it’s a BTB team from BTB.net well…quit out early if you can. Gamesager will rape you with Banshee.

The bomb is OP, piloting the thing and keeping it alive for most of the game is where the skill is at.

Honestly, to balance the Banshee out IMO is increase cooldown usage for bomb and having flips remove chunks from the boost gauge. Buff health and plasma cannons to counteract nerfs.

It’s not as easy as you think to use the banshee. The flip + bomb technique doesn’t work as well in Invasion.
Enemy elites can wait to charge a plasma pistol and emp you whilst they are jetpacking, or lets the spartans line up some sniper shots.
The only time it is OP is when the enemy team are stupid.

There is no excuse for the elites to not obtain the banshee, elites have three spawns all relatively close to the Banshee while Spartan have one, if six elites can’t overpower two spartans the elites.deserve to lose the banshee.

It’s a lot easier than you think, especially if a few Spartans are determined and waiting in the shadows with a possible Sniper on standby to shoot their HUGE heads while most typical Elites are busy running around on the Spire in the second phase trying to defend.

Only one Elite fire team spawns on the banshee landing, the other two Elite teams can only swap spawns on the other side of the mountain with no clear sights or good gap closer against the enemy.

Maybe if it was like Boneyard where all of the fire teams can spawn right on the landing would it be a little different.

It’s way too neutral for how powerful it is against Elites and their very very tight spawns. Can mean the difference between fun and just downright unenjoyable. It’s silly to not acknowledge it has problems, whether with good or bad teammates.
