I’m very glad to say that we have many enemy classes to fight this time around. I have listed all of the classes for each enemy below.
COVENANT
Elites: Military leaders of the Covenant warriors.
- Minor - The Minor Domo is the lowest class achievable. While low in rank, their capabilities are not to be underestimated.
- Ranger - The Rangers have very good experience with vehicles and mechanisms. They use jetpacks to move around quickly and can board opposing vehicles.
- Commander - The Commanders bear stronger shielding and command Elites of classes below them.
- Warrior - The Elite Warrior is equipped with even better shielding and utilizes heavy weaponry.
- Zealot - The Zealots are religious fanatics who are either sent to retrieve artifacts or are to eliminate a force. These warriors usually wield Energy Swords.
Hunters: Heavily equipped assemblages of worms.
There is only one class of hunters of which we know so far, and that is the regular variant. Wields both a shield and a Fuel Rod Cannon.Jackals: Agile creatures with sharp senses.
- Jackal Minor - Jackal Minors wield an energy gauntlet to protect themselves, as well as a sidearm to return fire with.
- Jackal Sniper - Jackal snipers use precision weapons very accurately, proving to be a large threat on the battlefield.
- Jackal Ranger - Jackals equipped with jetpacks can move from one place to another very quickly. They utilize semi-powerful weaponry.
- Jackal Heavy - Jackal Heavies wield even stronger energy gauntlets and more powerful weapons than those of the Minors.
Grunts: The cannon fodder of the Covenant.
- Grunt Minor - Lowest rank in the Unggoy chain of command. Usually wield plasma pistols.
- Grunt Ranger - Equipped with ranger gear which gives an edge on the battlefield.
- Grunt Imperial - This Unggoy class has never been seen before. More intel coming soon.
- Grunt Heavy - Grunts capable of wielding heavier weapons, such as Fuel Rod Guns.
PROMETHEANS
Knights: Leaders of the Promethean fighters.
- Basic Knight - Knights that leap a very long distance. Carry a hardlight blade in one “hand” and a weapon in another.
- Knight Lancer - Knights capable of teleportation. Utilize scattershots for maximum damage when in close quarters.
- Knight Battlewagon - Very rare in combat. These formidable foes are deployed when all other Prometheans have failed. Bear very strong shielding and can deploy Autosentries.
- Knight Commander - Commanders are armored with even more hardlight, and can wield weapons such as Incineration Cannons. Can also deploy Autosentries.
Watchers: Support unit for the Prometheans.
There is only one watcher class of which we know of. They can shield allies, heal them, resurrect Knights, deflect grenades and spawn crawlers. Use boltshots as an offense.Crawlers: Quadrupedal creatures that can walk on walls and ceilings and swarm foes quickly.
- Basic Crawler - Uses a boltshot as a weapon. While lightly armored, these foes can tear you apart if they swarm you.
- Alpha Crawler - Leads the Crawler pack. Much more heavily armored and charges at you beligerently. It uses the Suppressor as its offensive weapon.
- Crawler Sniper - Shoots at its enemy from afar with the Binary Rifle. Can be quite formidable when not focused on.
Well, I guess that’s it. I hope this was helpful to you all.
What enemy are you guys most eager to fight in Halo 4? Discuss.
You know, it’s good practice to put spoiler tags if you are going to have spoilers in your title.
Can’t be too safe you know?
Anyways, nice detailed thread on the enemy types. I wonder how deadly the Crawler Snipers and Jackal Snipers will be on Legendary?

I apologise, I’ll get right on that. And thanks.
Probably very frustrating…

It’s fine
Also since you were listing the weapons most of the classes use, the Alpha Crawler uses the Supressor and the Sniper uses the Binary Rifle.

Thanks again. Haha! I’ll add that.

Pretty much
It’s heavily inspired by pokemon if you didn’t notice already. Critical hits have ruined and saved me in pokemon battles

Hahahaha! I have. Man… I really miss Pokemon. It’s been ages.
And me very, very, very sad no one is keeping this alive. I’ve spent quite some time on it.
> Sentinels? I hope they’re in there.
Have you seen the Making Halo 4: Part II?
> Sentinels? I hope they’re in there.
The Watchers are a type of Sentinel.
The Elites look like they’re wearing hats rather than helmets. The Commander helmet doesn’t even go around the head, only the top.

Indeed. However I think he means the aggressor class, which is in Halo 4.
One of the new screenshots shows a Jackal with an orange shield. Return of Halo 2 Majors?
(Although it could be that the shield itself is taking substantial damage and is about to break.)
