The Emp grenade is a mix between power drainer and a flare, right? Also does it mess up the HUD when it is used. I am very curious to know this.

I don’t think an EMP grenade has been confirmed for Halo 4…
There’s an EMP grenade in BLOPS2, but not Halo… And I hope to god there isn’t one. Regular grenades take down your shields fast enough (at least in Halo Reach… Hopefully they nerfed them a bit for H4…), and not only that, but the plasma pistol has a EMP effect when you charge it. There’s really no need for an EMP grenade in Halo…
The EMP grenade is a leak so technically we can’t talk about it.
They confirmed an EMP grenade at comic-con. It’s known as the promethean grenade and it was seen briefly in a spartan-ops gameplay video.
The Spartan Ops video (the bad quality one recorded at some event) showed the guy throwing some sort of circular grenade that emitted a bright pulse upon detonation. We are assuming this to be an EMP grenade, because I believe it was mentioned when they nerfed PV.
A power drain mixed with a flare. That would be a worthy grenade. Might make me consider using it. I can’t wait to see it in use. I really hope there are a lot more weapons/equipment unveiled in the PAX play time.
As a trade off for being an EMP/Flare it will probably only do shield damage and no health damage over a slightly larger radius than a frag… just speculation
i hope they have special grenades again (i.e. bubble shield, trip mine, grav lift) like in halo 3. they added a cool twist in the game. especially against vehicles.
Many a times in reach i wished that i had a power drain to stop a rampaging vehicle.
I wonder if it’ll be just an explosion that releases an EMP/flare or act more like Halo 3 equipment where it’ll emit an EMP/flare for a few seconds and then blow up. If I remember correctly the video I saw showed it as an explosion immediately but we don’t know if that was even the EMP grenade.
Do you have any sort of source for the ‘EMP Grenade’?
It would make sense if they put it in, I mean, why not?
