The emblem system is a serious step back

Anybody else feel like 343i slapped us in the face on this one? Not only do we have to unlock them but a large amount of classics have been stripped from our hands! So far as of rank 48 i have 45 foreground and 34 background choices ( a few are from the Limited edition and the 7/11 app) as opposed to 80 and 53 that reach carried.

Unlocking emblems is a gimmick along with the removal of the classic emblems we’ve been sporting for the past 7 years. This system is what reach did right, along with H3 and H2.

I want my SOL back, people want their vortex, and bungie deserves the respect of the the return of the 7th column. Oh and all those other one that people miss too.

EDIT: I have learned of certain emblems such as delta where shown before the release of the game but got removed before launch. Why? Is there a DLC planned? If so It better be a bonus with the map packs or I’ll be pretty angry, will still buy it though cause I’m dumb like that.

My sol is even there along with many others.

This is very annoying. I don’t see why they did this because it achieves nothing. I’m not very happy at the selection, not to mention the couple that you start with. A very pointless and stupid move by 343i. I hope they don’t do this in Halo 5 or 6.

I’ll pay for a DLC with the classic emblems in it. even if i have to unlock them.

It really is a slap in the face… my friend used vortex since halo 2 and its come to “symbolize” him and now its gone. Ive used valkrye (since halo 2) with the brackets background since 3 but brackets are gone so now i use my halo 2 emblem.

Completely agree. I’m sure it sounds silly to many, but emblems are important to lots of folks–especially when they’ve been using it for 5+years. I’m one of the lucky ones, my Wolf is still in, but I should have it at day 1. And now that I know it may not be in future halos I’m very worried. I have it tattooed on my arm.
Very odd decision.

I can relate (I don’t have a tatoo) I use my emblem for anything i can possibly use it for I remember the day i created it too. I’ve always thought of it as my identity online.

I assume the initial idea in previous games was to allow players to have a unique emblem and appearance. How is this the case when there’s very little to chose from and players are forced to use the same few until they’re unlocked.

My emblem has always been the number 5 way back from Halo 2. Something as simple as that and it’s not in.

Complaining about a little symbol that no one even looks at?

BAHAHAHAHA… oh man…

Says the guy who has his avatar set to his spartan character that “nobody looks at”

Guys, I’m sure it was justified.

I mean, come on, they probably saved 20 minutes for not including those emblems, and a they probably had an extra whopping 5 Kilobytes of space!

No. There is no justification for toying with the beloved fans’ visual identities for your own -Yoink- and giggles. I understand that you want people to use your emblems, but making a random abstract box and then deleting 5/6 of the good emblems isn’t a reasonable solution. Try this: Keep all of the emblems, and then, shocker, attempt to make better ones so people use them because they’re actually good!

I was referring to the fact you’re ignorant and hypocritical, but why would i expect you to understand? Bro.

This!

it looks the exact -Yoinking!- same to me minus like 10 options

How can 80 and 53 look like 45 and 34 to you? It’s bit more than 10.

Not to mention how our emblems are so freaking tiny in the lobbies.

lol did you count the difference?

I’m thinking that they ran out of disk space, but I’m not sure how much space emblems take up and how much space was left on the disk at launch. If so, they might release some more in DLC.

Go on reach it says right beside the emblems how many choices you have. same with halo 4.
