One of the most fantastic things in Halo’s multiplayer was the ability to change your player’s species. When Halo 4 was announced we were all so amazed til the moment that the player who ran the Elite model heard that the Elites will probably not be in the next Halo trilogy.343 industries said that they want to satisfy as more fans as possible.
However, when we heard about the abscent of our beloved allien species it was like a slap on the face, like being rejected. For us and for also fans who run the spartan model Halo must always include the Elites, no matter where the Halo plot goes to.Many fans tried to calm us by saying that we can change the model of another species, yet this not satisfying. How would be for you a Halo game without spartans or even humans in general?
Therefore we create this thread for fans to tell as their opinions and maybe, if they read the thread, give 343 industries a message that Halo is for all its fans not only for spartans.
Please post your opinions and thoughts.

Yes elites must stay or the game will lose a huge amount of followers.
If they remove the elites I will say that halo is on its way to becomeing a dead game.
It needs to be Halo 3 style where you choose but you also get your covenant weapon counter part as a load out but have some game types require certain species.

Extreme exaggeration.
I’m starting to wonder if there’s any tiny aspect of Halo that somebody won’t claim the series will die without.

what is the reasoning behind this logic? because last time i checked a “huge amount of followers” joke elite clans and couldn’t care less if the are in MP. now all of a sudden they “need to be in”?
my microsoft zune is broken it won’t let me take a selfie of myself with my recently deceased son
Elites and Prophets should return. Nothing else, especially not Brutes, they were never anything more than plot filler.
I really want to see the Elites in Halo 4, but if they’re not it won’t keep me from playing it.
I have high hopes for the game especially customization.
I don’t see why the Elites wouldn’t return. The galaxy post-war is essentially a cold war between the UNSC and the Elite’s. and many players (myself included) enjoy the ability to step away from the “UNSC! -Yoink- yea!!” niche.

You haven’t been reading the books or keeping up to date then.

yes. elites are a lot of fun to not only play as but play against as well. i’d be happy if i never saw another brute in my life they are incredibly boring.

Thanks for reading my whole post. Yes I read Glassland’s and Elite’s were a major focus of the plot. Removing them would be silly because whatever this “ancient evil” is neither Humanity nor the Sangheli are in any position to face it alone.

It was annoying how people could change their player models in Halo 3, everyone should start the same.
In multiplayer, I really hope they return.
In campaign, only if it fits with the story. I have yet to read Glasslands, so I don’t know if it says anything about that. But I’ll hold out on an opinion on this until I read the book and hear more about Halo 4.

okay then everyone elites
The reason Elite supporters, including myself, care so much is because ever since Halo 2 we have wrapped our Halo experience around the idea of being part of the Covenant. Elite clans specifically even tend to build massive forge map recreations of Covenant ships, Sangheili Keeps, Meeting rooms, and a few great remakes of the Trial Room from the beginning of Halo 2’s Campaign (or the mission Gravemind). Just to hold big meetings and have celebratory promotion rituals and the like.
We already have it hell enough in Reach only being able to play as Elites in Customs, half the time in Invasion, or rarely in other playlists (as there is no “preferred species” or “Elite only” ones). But to have the model removed completely from the game will remove a large aspect of the Halo experience and fun from I’d estimate a few hundred players, only counting clans, as other Elite players won’t care as much.
There are already alot of clans that lost members because Reach didn’t fully support Elites, and some of them refused to even buy Reach and stopped playing Halo 3.
The point is, we are a real community, even if we aren’t a big chunk. And we don’t want to lose our source of fun in this game.
Oh, and an Elite spinoff campaign like ODST would be awesome. Arbiter’s campaign was cool, but that only lasted half a game.

Edit:

What about Halo 2? Did you have a problem with the Elites that were actually easier to kill in that game? Do you play Street Fighter? You think the only character in the game should be Ryu?
The difference between a Spartan and Elite in Halo is smaller than the difference between Ryu and Ken. Done right there shouldn’t even be a difference. Reach’s models are shaped almost exactly the same, the Elite is just bigger. They don’t need to be. Scale them, instead of bending like they did in Halo 2 and 3, and you will have a perfect fit.

If I remember correctly you couldn’t be an elite in Halo 2 multiplayer. There is supposed to be a difference in character models in fighting games. Halo is not a fighter. If they do also players to play as elites restrict it only to social playlists.
