I was re-watching “The Return” yesterday and a thought went threw my mind, is the Elite in this story Jul’ Mdama before he is fully separate from the elite forces at the end of Halo 3?
> > Jul has a deep resentment of humanity.
> >
> > The character in The Return does not. He ‘needs us to learn how to live’.
>
> Well spoilers dose Jul not do the same as the Elite in “The Return” at the end of season one of spartan ops with Doctor Halsey?
Jul still hates humans, he is just trying to use Halsey, tho she is doing the same to him.
> Jul hates humanity but he isn’t stupid. He needs Halsey for information essential to conquering the galaxy.
>
> The Elite in the return just wants to learn some life lessons and bring purpose to his life.
Well, at the end of the return the Elite seems really intrested in the forerunner stuff the humans found and he in not exactly happy to see that the humans are still alive until after he realizes what they could help him get.

That’s not said or implied anywhere, in the whole vid he regrets what he did to the humans…

He is confused as to why they came back, notice how he didn’t try to kill the human before he saw the papers, he took the human so he could find out about the forerunner stuff.

He did not try and kill him because he was already pretty messed up. After he knows what they are up to though he kinda treats him the same way that Jul treated Glassmen and Halsey. Don’t know though, could be wrong, that’s what I got from it though.

It’s not like the Shipmaster wanted to get involved. He’s going through an existencial crisis, and well, judging by the incinetared human building scene, he’s pretty shocked to see the consequences of his actions agains the humans of Kholo, so killing another one wouldn’t be likely… and he checked the surviving human at the camp to see if he was alive, but only left him to die when he saw the bad state in which he was. And well, he’s trying to find spiritual answers from the artifacts.
Jul only uses artifacts as a method of personal revenge, not caring about his honor or what he does to the Hesduros Elites… very different in my opinion.
