I was just wondering what effect Spartan Abilities might have on some of the other playlists in Halo other than the basic Slayer and objective games. From what I can see:
Flood/Infection: Survivors will have to take the high ground or an enclosed space, as they are vulnerable in the open/low ground to a sudden ground pound. Zombies/Flood will also have to be much stealthier, as thrusters can be used to dodge a sword lunge.
Grifball: Could get quite hectic. Thrusters shouldn’t cause a problem, as they can be easily countered by your opponent also thrusting. GP shouldn’t be a problem either, nor should charge. Sliding under a sword lunge might be possible, something I see no problem with. Overall, it simply becomes more dynamic.
Action Sack: Need I say it? At least a 40% increase in craziness.
I can’t think of any others right now. Thoughts?

It would also be a clear giveaway in position. I guess it depends on how well swat hit detection works (dedicated servers will help, but H2A/H2C/H4 on mcc are very hit and miss. Pun intended). Also, hopefully they get rid of swat objective game types. CTF in swat definitely doesn’t play like Halo should in H4 (maybe I play too much swat haha).
I wonder if thrusters will have be in use with the flag carrier/oddball carrier. It would be interesting with and without abilities in these gametypes. Also wonder if they will go back to the two handed flag (not sure what the consensus was on a pistol carrying flag carrier).

Indeed, thrusting to catch the ball and suchlike could change things up considerably. With regards to Swat, It could certainly help with ambushes and retreats.
